About Those Fish

In a previous Sunday Selections I showed some fish that had been caught by my brother's friend, stating that I couldn't remember what type they were.

Here's a reminder picture:

I texted R last night and got an answer this morning.

The smaller fish are Nanagi and the larger ones are Red Emperor.

So now we know.

Comments

  1. I know the Red Emperor but not the other Nanagi, which sounds like an aboriginal name.

    1. Me too. Red Emperors are particularly good for us because we don't like meat.

    2. Andrew and hels; sadly I will never know how these taste, living so far away from them. maybe one day I'll check the fishmarkets and see if they have any. I agree Nanagi sounds indigenous.

    1. Ruby Rose and the Big Little Angels 3; they do look great and I hope brother and his friend enjoyed them. I'm guessing quite a lot went into their freezers.

  5. Fitting last name. Mine translated is Emperor and my calendar today stated: "I am not small! I am a concentrate." Dad named me Flavia due to expecting my hair will turn red-dish. Now I feel like a big fish ;-) Just as in alive!
