Sunday Selections # 813

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

I bought this Yogo pudding to see if it matched Charlotte's colour of the month

and it almost does

close enough?

bottlebrush trees everywhere are heavy with blossoms right now and zillions of bees too, each tree has a delightful buzzing hum as I walk past

you can see why it got the name bottle brush

each hair-thin stem? stamen? has a golden tip and I wonder now if this is the pollen waiting to be collected.

Let's get back into the time machine again:

this is an old retired tugboat, beached on the bank of the Port River, the photo was taken the same day as last weeks bridge photos.

This is "The Falie" an old sailing ship brought home from somewhere, (I really should research this) and restored

the full length view, compared to modern ships this is almost toy sized.

This one is another tugboat named Yelta, if I remember correctly this is the one that had the seagulls on the canvas deck cover last week.

This time we are definitely back in the future, the now:

gorgeous pelargoniums are blooming now, these are in a small side street off my street

I am almost 100% positive these have grown from small pieces taken from my own pelargoniums which have since died. I never minded people taking pieces, but did get annoyed when entire small bushes were ripped out.

this is how I like my tomatoes, meaty with very little of the juice and seeds that seem to fill modern hard-as-rocks tomatoes. This one is an heritage/heirloom variety and I will plant the few seeds and see what happens.
