In the Sunday Mail (Adelaide’s Sunday newspaper) By Melissa Leong “I wonder if we’re losing our capability for rational discussion” There’s no question that the world is in the toilet right now. And I mean right at the bottom of the bowl, you know? Sure, as long as there have been people on the planet, we’ve had or issues. But at present it certainly feels as though things have hit a fever pitch that only dogs and bats should be able to hear. As such, I don’t think anyone can be blamed for being a little (or a lot) up in arms, From the atrocities of war and political injustice to social inequality; tragedy and environmental disaster, there’s a lot to be angry, sad and confused about, that’s for sure. I don’t know about you, but every day feels a bit like a powder keg waiting to blow at any given moment. As our patience wears thin on the issues we care about, I’m noticing that a new kind of worrying trend is rising in tandem. For the sake of our conversation, I’m going t...
Brilliant. And never a truer word spoken!
ReplyDeleteHi River,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely true. I know - my three have TWO human pets!!
:o)
Cheers

LOL, spot on! (Best with the dentist, not fun.)
ReplyDeleteHope the dentists visits conclude soon. My cat considers himself at minimum Important. Lately he has arrived from nowhere into my lap, Ker-Blam.
ReplyDeleteCraig; I never knew how true this was until I got this cat. I've had cats in the past, but they've lived outside; this one lives on my bed. All over my bed.
ReplyDeletePlasman; so you have the elevated sense of importance times three!
Jacquelineand; sometimes I wish I had an extra room I could banish him to. The cat, not the dentist.
Definitely true. And one of mine is not a gentle god.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the dentist. Hopefully the last trip for a while.
So cute! Makes me miss our kitty. She knew she was all that. :)
ReplyDeleteI've covered Remy and Shama's eyes so they can't see this pic!!
ReplyDeleteThey're both cocky enough as it is!
We demand a photo of this "dentist" you're always spending time with, River! We need proof he is what you say he is!! :)
We want the tooth!!!!
Most of my life a cat has lived with me, I've loved them all but you are so right the world revolves around each and every one of them or so they think.
ReplyDeleteMerle...........
So true.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I think this trip is a two stage process, I'll find out for sure tomorrow. After that, who knows? I still need a lot of work done, most of my molars are cracked and so are the fillings.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christine; you miss your kitty? You can have mine. Just let me find a large enough envelope.....
Lee; the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth?
Whole tooth...what a dream. From the original 32, I have only 5 that are completely untouched by dental instruments. The rest have been filled, refilled, re-refilled and so on. Let's not mention the eight or nine root canals. (*~*)
My dentist is a woman, lovely young lady, going on maternity leave soon.
Merle; "or so they think" that's the truth. Of course we know better, but we pander to them anyway.
Vicki; so very true :)
Joanne; how did I miss you up there? Angel does the same thing. He's not even in the room, then suddenly he's up on the table demanding a tummy rub.
ReplyDelete... Hi River.... good luck with the dentist... rest and recover... xxx
ReplyDeleteI love the cartoon... all cats think like this... that's their charm... lol...
Hugs.... Barb xxx
Love the photo.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind going to the dentist. You will have lovely teeth, but then again, maybe there were already lovey...good luck.
Barbara; resting and recovering after four and a half hours of work done, this is only stage one!
ReplyDeletewhiteangel; they weren't lovely, I have temporary teeth fitted right now, permanent ones coming in a couple of weeks.
Brilliant cat picture! The one thing I don't like about the house we rent is that the landlord doesn't want us to have a pet. Instead, I have to be content with all the moggies who roam our garden. Bah!

ReplyDeleteFran hill; perhaps you could get one of those "sleeping" battery operated kitties that look almost real and have the purring sound.
