In the Sunday Mail (Adelaide’s Sunday newspaper) By Melissa Leong “I wonder if we’re losing our capability for rational discussion” There’s no question that the world is in the toilet right now. And I mean right at the bottom of the bowl, you know? Sure, as long as there have been people on the planet, we’ve had or issues. But at present it certainly feels as though things have hit a fever pitch that only dogs and bats should be able to hear. As such, I don’t think anyone can be blamed for being a little (or a lot) up in arms, From the atrocities of war and political injustice to social inequality; tragedy and environmental disaster, there’s a lot to be angry, sad and confused about, that’s for sure. I don’t know about you, but every day feels a bit like a powder keg waiting to blow at any given moment. No effort awesome is always the best. You go girl.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; This one is going on a coffee mug :)
DeleteIt's a bit thought provoking. Sometimes people seem perfect but as time goes on, flaws are revealed.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; that's true, but if we love them, flaws are acceptable. Unless they're an axe murderer.
DeleteNo awesomeness here. I do love that confidence though (and there isn't a lot of that here either).
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; you need a T-shirt that says "I am Awesome" to remind you that we all think you are awesome.
DeleteBut are you AS awesome as me?
ReplyDeletefishducky; probably not, you've had years more practice.
DeleteOuch!
DeleteMinions are always awesome, simply because they are minions.
ReplyDeleteSusan; they are cute aren't they?
DeleteThat's the kind of attitude I gave off, during the first week of school every year, as my freshmen waited to enter the classroom, and saw me kick the wooden doorstop out to the edge of the door as I flung it open, capturing it perfectly as it hit the wall.
ReplyDeleteVal; that's the way to do it, impress them from day one and make sure they know you mean business.
DeleteYeah...it's a burden we have to bear...and bear it we do! :)
ReplyDeleteLee; it's not such a hard burden though and now and again we're allowed to drop the bundle, we all have off days.
ReplyDeleteOh yes River, and awesome you are my friend.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, to be as confident as that adorable little minion, eh? I'm more inclined to notice the sheer awesomeness in other people than I am to see a lick of it in myself. Maybe the secret is to be like a minion and confidently PROJECT a feeling of awesomeness and hope nobody notices there's a little man cowering behind the wonderful Wizard of Oz's screen. :)
ReplyDeleteLet's all celebrate the awsomeness that is us!
ReplyDeleteit's a burden we have to bear...and bear it we do! :)
