Queen Elizabeth 2nd has passed away

😢

I have spent several hours crying as I watch stories about her on channel 7 this morning.

The news and newspapers will be filled with stories and photos tomorrow.

She has been Queen for my entire life and visited Australia 16 times during her reign.

Take my hand Elizabeth, Philip is waiting for you. 😢😢😢

  1. Well, as Ingo said.... at the beginning of the week she was still working. It´s better to go quickly than to suffer for a long time.
She sure was a nice, funny, wonderful person.
So, if I may say so.... she deserved to go in dignity.
As she almost always did (loved how she tried not to laugh finding her husband as one of the guards).
    Beautiful pic.

    1. Iris; she did go with the dignity she always showed and while I am sad at her passing, I am glad she went easily and is now with her husband again.

  2. Was listening on the phone before I went to bed last night and the news then wasn't good, I thought how quickly she went downhill so to speak. We will miss her. May she RIP

    1. Margaret D; I saw the newspaper front page this morning which said "Grave Fears For Queen" and I texted my daughter who told me she had died yesterday evening at about 6.30 England time.

  3. I saw the news when I turned on my laptop shortly after noon. She had a good run. I keep thinking of her corgis and dorgis. I suppose that's shallow, but she loved those dogs, and they loved her. I hope they're with people they are familiar with.

    1. Val; I am sure her dogs will be well cared for, they will miss her, but the whole family loves dogs I think. She was Queen for my entire life.

  4. She was working to the very last. I doubt that we will see another Monarch as dedicated.

    1. Elephant's Child; there will never be another like her. They may try, but none will compare to her sense of duty and goodwill. I liked her so much.

  5. I was so shocked. I thought she would live to her mother's age. It's a very sad day indeed.

    1. Andrew; I wasn't so shocked, there were signs that I'd seen in my own mother the week before she died. But I am very sad, she is irreplaceable, there will never be another.

  6. Even though almost expected the news was so sad. I am a huge admirer of her not only as the Queen but as a person. She set the bar very high for everyone.

    1. Arkansas Patti; she did set the bar very high and never slipped under it herself, working right to the end with the dignity and grace she was well-known for.

  9. I cried too River and I'm an American. My mom's love of genealogy and finding her ancestry back to the Queen has formed a special place in our hearts for Queen Elizabeth. I was so hopeful she would live at least as long as her own mom but I suppose Prince Phillip was waiting. <3 - It's going to take a bit to get used to King Charles III but God Save The King! <3

    1. MMM; it will take some getting used to with a King now instead of a Queen, I hope he is up to it! He's had plenty of training, so should be okay. I feel the Queen was aching to be with Philip again and just couldn't hold out any longer.

  10. It is very sad. I will certainly miss her as our Monarch. What a marvelous 70 year reign.

    1. DeniseinVA; it was the longest reign of any Monarch and she did it so well, with great dignity.

  11. That drawing made me cry - and we still have our queen, who is in many ways very much like Elizabeth II - may she rest in peace with her Philip.

    1. Charlotte; the drawing was an old one from when someone made a little video of The Queen having afternoon tea with Paddington Bear, but I like the idea of him leading her to Philip. I have been reading about earlier Danish Queens in a book titled 'The Viking Heart' -'How Scandinavians Conquered the World', it's quite interesting to note that countries were more settled when women ruled.
