Sunday Selections #642

Long ago, Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if overseas bloggers care to join us.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

the jade by the front porch is flowering more than it ever did before, this one is in a pot

autumn leaves on the geranium

one of my aeoniums has developed a flower stalk! first one ever for my garden, the blooms will be yellow.

the recent rains have washed all the bird poops off my mushroom

I had high hopes for my one lonely potato plant but when checking yesterday I found all the leaves chewed away so I'll be digging it up tomorrow. Hopefully there is at least one little potato under it.

flowering jade hedge

I repainted the lovebirds, the colours aren't correct,

but don't they look lovely?

my "steampunk" dragon is new, the little redheads haven't discovered him yet.

here is Gen standing up without holding on to anything 😀

eating toast with vegemite for breakfast

and making funny faces

Ana inspecting her toast possibly wondering why there is vegemite only on one side

it will do, num num

and here is Ana, dancing without holding on! She has good balance. 😀Turn on your sound for this one.
They dance to other songs too, but this is a favourite.

  1. OH the most delightful!! Nothing like a jamming baby dance to make our day! And now I am hungry for Vegemite on toast. Marmite is sold up here, Vegemite is not, marmite does not cut it!
Your painted birds look wonderful, cheery bright and just right!

    1. Linda Sue; I love that the babies dance and have rhythm, I'm so happy they like music. Do you know anyone in Australia that could send you some vegemite? The painted birds seemed too bright to me at first but I'm used to them now.

  2. That balance is impressive. Never mind walking, they are going to be running soon.
    Loving your garden too.

    1. Elephant's Child; I too am impressed with her balance, she may be like me in that respect. The garden is looking great after all the rains we've had.

  3. I see a potato famine coming at your house.

    1. Mike; I dug up the potato this morning instead of waiting for tomorrow, it barely had roots, let alone a potato. Lucky for me the supermarket is a five minute walk away and they have plenty of potatoes.

  4. The jade is giving a fine show.
The love birds look great and I like your new dragon.
The girls will soon be off and running...away.
No chips made from homegrown spuds this year then.

    1. Andrew; I wasn't really expecting home grown spuds, but hoped for at least one. ah well, I'll buy from Foodland. I like my new dragon too, but have had to close the purse strings now, no more ebay for me! I'm glad you like the love birds, perhaps I should name them Aaar and Aaaay. The jade is a lovely sight when I'm trudging home after a day in the city.
The girls will be running soon, but first they need to walk and I think that will happen very soon.

    1. WWW; thank you. The girls are a big joy in my life. I'm disappointed with the spuds but not too surprised, I haven't been able to grow any since 1993 in a different garden with wonderful soil.

  7. I love your jade plant. It looks so healthy. Your clean mushroom reminds me of the Super Mario Brothers game. The girls are not selling me on that vegemite!

    1. Val; all the jades are healthy, I seem to have found the right spot for them. I know nothing of Super Mario Brothers. Did they have mushrooms? Vegemite is something you need to grow up with, some acquire the taste later in life, but most don't. It's strong and needs to be smeared thinly, not dolloped on like jam. It's an excellent source of B vitamins.

  8. Your jades are beautiful. Mine have never flowered and I've never been very successful with potatoes, either.
It's lovely to see infants dancing - they'd make the sourest person smile!

    1. jabblog; hold off on the water a bit and they may flower. I love watching babies dance.

  9. Oh, rain can be soooo handy #bird poops - this really made me chuckle.
The mushroom looks cleaner than my Gurri (once a woman shouted, "thank you for bringing me luck!", when I passed her with my winter-coat Gurri).
    Sorry about your potato...
Your lovebirds are very cute (the colors on my blog-socks today aren´t correct, either, who cares? (they were brown-ish)).
    Love steampunk!
"... he just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich" - LOL, right start! None of my friends who live in Perth but grew up outside Australia can´t enjoy Vegemite.
I, too, tried a couple of times. No. You have to start early (and it´s so healthy, too!)

Sweet. It must be awesome to be able to dance when not long ago you were but on the floor!
Thank you for the smiles :-)

    1. Iris; rain does come in very handy for cleaning things in the garden. I'm not worried about the potato, wasn't really expecting it to grow. I have had the lovebirds for almost twenty years. I like steampunk very much. The babies were dancing even when they could only sit :)

    1. Steve Reed; possums and any creepy crawlies that are about at this time of year. It's the wrong season for growing anyway so I wasn't expecting much from it.
