Wednesday's Words on a Friday

The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.

The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.

If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.

This month the words/prompts are supplied by Lissa and can be found here

This week's words/prompts are:

1. scumbag 2. qualm 3. judidious 4. limitless 5. danger

Here is my story:

His appetite for danger was limitless and Jason would jump into any new adventure without a qualm.

It was only the judicious intervention of his father that stopped young Jason from following the scumbag who tried to lure him into unsavoury areas and practices involving drugs and theft.

Later, Jason would admit the white water rafting trip with his dad was a much better adventure.

  1. Good for Jason that he has a caring and brave father. Well written.

    1. Charlotte; his father remembers his own teenage years and steers Jason in the right directions.

    2. A wise father indeed! My Dad was not as brave and never did drugs, but when my Brother´s friend did, Dad took my Brother on a longer trip, too. The trips became a little tradition.

    3. Iris; this wise father learned from his own father.

  2. I like it! If parents keep the kids busy with good adventures, it helps them not look for trouble themselves.

    1. messymini; it's true, if parents do this and keep contact, the kids do better at staying out of trouble.

  3. Isn't water rafting dangerous? I wouldn't care to go on such a trip even to cure my dangerous appetite.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. lissa; it is a dangerous sport, but they go in groups while learning and wear life vests.

  4. Yes, I would think a whitewater rafting trip could satisfy an appetite for danger. I know it would terrify me! Even a float trip down a calm river made me nervous, and I was in the boat between two experienced canoe-ers.

    1. Val; Jason is a boy who lives for excitement and the thrill of a little danger. I'm imagining him to grow up and be an explorer of some type.
