Sunday Selections #769
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
our native Frangipani is blooming again,
here is a closeup of the many thousands of white and yellow blossoms
they do make a mess when they fall, but insects don't mind
pink/orange roses, I like this combination of colours
purple something, I think Sea Lavender or Statice
bouganvillea spreading across a fence
a nice terracotta plant stand
with a cute little "welcome" gnome under it
(strelitzia) birds of paradise
red hot chilli peppers, (does anyone remember any of their songs?)
this ladybird in my porch pot was hiding in a drawer when I found him/her and several other garden critters were there too
a little grey cat with fancy curled whiskers
and a couple of something, crickets? Grasshoppers?
this is the bird feeder where my pair of (fake) lovebirds hang, you can see it is quite weathered
the underside of the dish shows how rusty it is and I am looking for a small birdcage to replace it, I've seen some nice round ones, ball shaped, on Amazon, but I won't buy from there, I'll save a picture and take that to the local pet supply store.
these are the lovebirds, probably the only things here that don't have names.
We had a warm spell recently, I actually turned on the airconditioner, and the redheads decided to shuck their coats and boots and look for summer clothes
Gillian went straight for the bling, she loves the shiny, the frilly, the girly girl stuff
Riley has claimed the overalls, good for climbing trees in, she says
Jordan has found the party shoes to go with Gillian's dress
But then the sky clouded and rain began, so they donned their socks and cardigans and sat on the windowsill to watch the rain
The cold weather stayed, so the girls decided my old shoes would make lovely "skiddoos" and they are waiting for snow, to try them out. I should probably tell them we don't get snow, but they look so happy.
Finishing with this month's calendar page:
so true.
