Sunday Selections #770

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

on my way to the shops recently I saw what appeared to be either a crab or very large spider on my sorry excuse for a  lawn

closer inspection found it to be only a tangle of oleander seed pods

a pretty leaf waiting to be smushed under someone's shoe or bicycle wheel

I know this plant as Dusty Miller, but others might call it something else

and here are its flowers

one of my favourite rose bushes is flowering again, though the blooms are more yellow than in the past

but still beautiful to look at

cute little mushrooms, these are plant pot decorations on sale at the local Foodland supermarket

next to the mushrooms are other ornaments in assorted shapes and sizes

on my way home I found this twig with flowers, clearly nipped off the tree by a cockatoo

I'll put it in a vase by the fire, said Meg

meanwhile, back at the ranch, across town, "no-one" had been shopping at Central Market and bought these flavoured butters, don't they look delicious?

this is the back section of the Medical Clinic where I accompanied my elderly neighbour for her CAT scan

while she was being tended to in the Radiology section I wandered around outside taking photos

a few of the other services they offer there, but there's more...

no, not steak knives. Medical stuff.

Hello Sarnie is the cafeteria, nicely fitted out, spacious and very clean, Sarnie is a slang word for sandwich, though many older Australians would say "sanger". The cafe has a wide range of pre-made packaged sandwiches, a few hot foods, plus a selection of hot and cold drinks.

Home again where Lola settled peacefully by the heater as soon as I turned the TV on.

A few days later we had the supercars race on the weekend and this is one of the "show-off" jets leaving trails in the sky, he zipped around so fast I was lucky to get this one shot.

Final photo, this cloud looks like an erupting volcano, right?

  1. I'm glad that wasn't a spider! Shudder! The flavoured butters look interesting.
