Today in South Australia
Saturday January 31st, from today's newspaper:
Port Augusta reached 50C yesterday, (Jan 30th) that's 122F for all you northeners above the Equator.
Today is a tad cooler but with much cloud cover creating the muggy effect we all know and hate.
Possibly the beaches will be crowded and hopefully all persons there are throwing bucket loads of sunscreen over each other.

50c is insanity :(
ReplyDelete35c is my safe maximum outside. Otherwise you are risking heat exhaustion, poor respiration and confusion.
Hels; my comfort zone is 30C or under, but I can become accustomed to more if I have to, but not much more. I remember running around on Port Pirie beach as a child with no thought whatsoever about how hot it might be. I feel the heat much more now I am old.
Delete36C in Madely/Perth, sunscreen all over :-) Tomorrow pool-party with Sami and Grace and the bunch.... I LOVE the heat!!! I won´t say 36 is disappointing, though, coming from -2C! Wish you could join...
ReplyDeleteIris; I wish I could join too and 36C seems hot enough to me for sure.
DeleteWe are up around 40 today with a possible storm later. I hoping and wishing for the storm just to cool things down a bit and settle the dust.
ReplyDeleteTracy; a storm might just wet things down without making anything cooler, there's plenty more heat coming.
DeleteHoly moly, 50C? I'd be dead.
ReplyDeleteWe had -4F here this morning. Very, very, very different.
ReplyDeleteNow that is far too hot, R. Adelaide's weather comes our way a day or two later but of course not as hot.
