Sunday Selections #777

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

Look what I found when planning dinner recently

chitting (sprouting) potatoes. Will I cut those sections and plant them in hopes of growing my own? You betcha! We'll see what happens this time.

pulled a bag of frozen green beans from the freezer recently and discovered I hadn't properly sealed it after the previous use. Beans everywhere!

I rescued those caught in the freezer basket, but the floor ones had to be tossed because of possible cat hair contamination and probably some dust too. I'm not the best housekeeper these days.

Interesting shadows? I thought so when I took the photo, but not now. That's one of Joanne's towels acting as tablecloth by the recliner.

I diced a nectarine for my after dinner snack recently and instead of transferring it to a bowl I decided to leave it on the small board. Why make extra washing up?

This is my cobweb broom, bought long before the Ukraine/Russian war began, but the colours still make me hopeful that Ukraine will remain a free country, eventually. I run this broom around the cornices a couple of times a year to thwart the many hundreds of daddy-long-legs and other spiders that might want to move in here.

Allow me to introduce Sven, my Viking Guardian, he doesn't go out on raids because the poor man appears to have no eyes.

and here is Paddington, sitting patiently waiting for someone to find his lost suitcase. (he came without one and no boots either)

and here is my Harley Goldwing,

five and a half inches long.

three and a half inches to the top of the windshield. Not quite big enough for the redheads to play on.

I found this tiny clay Llama in a shop that was closing down and he was priced at only $2 so of course he came home with me.

A couple more Carmine pictures though I know it is the wrong colour for February and not exactly carmine, but close enough.

and one of the bedside chests which shows as more carmine with the lamp turned on. Notice the photo of the twins holding hands as they sleep, that was when they were tiny babies and each was comforted by touching the other.

a golden dawn photo taken by "no-one" about three weeks ago, I'm not up early enough to catch the dawn. The towers on the hills are the TV receiving stations up at Mt Lofty.

a close-up of the weaving pattern in Joanne's tea towels. Joanne no longer blogs and we miss her.

This is a close up of my table surface, I had no idea it was so scratched up. Those marks aren't visible without this magnification.

February's Calendar page resembles the heat we are currently having (40C-45C daytime, slightly less overnight)

one of the smaller pictures on the date page

and the other picture.

February's colour of the month from Charlotte is:

Electric Rose, a lovely colour, but a quick look around tells me I don't have anything in this colour which is very similar to the recent "Thrash Pink" though slightly more pink, perhaps only one degree of difference in the shade.

Comments

  1. I think my favourite here is Sven, and, of course, the twins holding hands.
I like your 'Ukrainian' brush, too.
It's far too hot where you live - how does anyone manage to get anything done?

  2. That Electric Rose Pink is PERFECT for February and Valentine's Day! Slava Ukraini and Glory to Sven and Paddington too!

  3. The golden dawn photo is powerful. The temperature has been sooo hot, dawn might been the only time of day a smart human might venture outside.

  4. Wow! So many wonderful photos today. I do like the shadow one. Sven is just too cool and I do like the llama. Have a very nice day today.
