Sunday Selections #788

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

Beginning today with the redheads:

Riley discovered a quad bike and was having fun though it is a little too small for her, when along came Mr Rat.
"That looks like fun, can I have a go?"

"Of course, come on in"

"I think you might be too big," said Riley

"Oh! Help, Help!"

"I've got you," said Riley. "Just a little bump on the head, you'll be fine"  "I thought it would be easy," said Mr Rat

"Come upstairs with me," said Riley, "the whole gang is up there."

"Ooh! A piano, can I try?" said Mr Rat. "Of course," said Gillian who stepped aside for him.

Then it got chilly in the porch and they all came in to tell stories and watch TV.

Taking a trip down memory lane, this is the wooden coastal boardwalk down by Marino before it was ugraded and made safer. I liked it the way it was, now it has safety rails and is a lot smoother, so people can take their daily runs and even ride bikes along it.

Looking straight down the cliff to the waves and rocks below. I spent a couple of hours wandering along there.

Also from the past, Port Pirie beach from back in 2013, the scribble in the bottom left corner was a face that didn't belong.

Even earlier, from 2011, a stormy pre-dawn taken while walking to work. I had the opening shift at the supermarket, we opened at 6am so I had to be there by 5.30 to get things ready for the first customers. Stacks of daily newspapers, make sure every checkout had a good supply of plastic bags etc.

Measure, mix, add....

dollop,

into the oven,

Sugar cookies with "Craisins" aka dried cranberries, this has to be from 2010, when I lived elsewhere and had a gas stove.

2012 or thereabouts, when I had mini ginger beer bottles and put rosebuds in them, in my current home.

Back to the future now, from last Wednesday, the message on this sweatshirt is so nice I just had to photograph it.
"To the person behind me, you are amazing, beautiful, and enough. Remember that."

Comments

  1. I can understand why you would spend a long time exploring that seaside. Beautiful! What does the boardwalk look like now?

  2. Who knew Mr. Rat would be such a performer! Your cookies made me want cookies, which I have not wanted in a long time.
