Musical Monday #17
Musical Monday
I was introduced to
Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way
to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same
time.
I’ll be finding my clips
on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many
versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong
artist.
Today’s clip is: Paul McCartney
Ballroom Dancing
I don't dance, but I have seen some ballroom style dancing, my old Dad+Mum-in-law were dancers and she told me once that she used to sew their costumes too.
S had her own dressmaking business for a while and made wedding dresses as well as everything else. This is the same woman who could knit an entire Baby's Layette in two nights while watching television!
Here is the one with the lyrics for those who want to know the words.
another one of my favourites.
My Ipod is full of favourites, I could do this for years.

Such a young Paul there.
ReplyDeleteI saw McCartney in concert in Brisbane when he was doing his "Wings Over the World" tour back in the Seventies. It was a great concert.
ReplyDeleteGreat music. In the early sixties I was bewildered by this stuff, being of the older school of musical tolerance, and some of todays offerings leave me stunned.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity you missed out on dancing,I don't know why, but don't tell me you have three legs.
Our family had tickets to the Beatles show in Hong Kong in 1963which cost an arm and a leg.I had to leave and take our 4 yr old David home who was frightened by the intensity of it all.
At the time I was based ashore in H/K with the RN. 2.5 years living in luxury.
Elephant's Child; it was too long ago, way back when we were all young.
ReplyDeleteLee; I saw the Wings Across America part of that on TV, it was fantastic.
Vest; I was raised by my dad and a social life wasn't encouraged in case he had to pay for something. Anything. Being a shy bookworm, that didn't bother me at the time and it's too late now to wish things could have been different then.
Sorry you had to miss that concert.
No, no, no, it isn't too late. (Unless you have bum knees and hips like me.) No need to wish things were different then; why not dance now? Do you have a senior center near you? Some of our centers teach ballroom dancing. That would be soooooo much fun. Except for my whole knees and hips thing... and the fact that my darling husband has absolutely no sense of rhythm.
ReplyDeleteHi River,
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that I've never heard that song by Paul, before. Quite a catchy tune.
I dance like a dad at a wedding, whatever that means :)
Gary
Susan; one unreliable knee and one unreliable hip. Also fear of falling off high heeled shoes. Or medium heeled shoes. Then there's the clothes. Ballroom dancing in tracky daks and sneakers?
ReplyDeleteklahanie; you must be the only person in the whole world who hasn't heard this before.
Well, you can count me as the second person in the world never to have heard that Paul McCartney song before!
ReplyDeleteWow that's great! I did Ballroom Dancing for 10 years when I was younger, I actually represented my State, becoming State Champion in Latin yes yes I was good at the time lol Kept me very fit as well! xo
