Musical Monday # 53

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Geri Halliwell, a former Spice Girl

It's Raining Men
the beginning of this is copied from Flashdance where the girl is auditioning in front of a panel of judges.

But I love the song, it's alive and makes me feel alive.

here are the lyrics so you can sing along.
(I'd like to dance along, but I can't move like that anymore).

ready? Sing! (*~*)

  1. Hi River,

The original's awful but Geri Halliwell managed to make it worse.

Quite an achievement for a woman who can't sing. I can sing better than her - and before you ask, no I won't.

    Sorry.

    ;o)

    Cheers

  3. A gay anthem, for sure. I'll listen to Geri's effort later but I think I've heard it.

  4. I suspect with a body like that it isn't the first (or the last) time it is raining men. I doubt an umbrella would help either.

  5. It is exactly the song needed for today! I never listened to the lyrics before.

  6. Oh! God! If that's the case I'm staying indoors today! Also I don't have an umbrella strong enough. Actually, I don't own an umbrella of any kind!

    Happy Monday, River. :)

  7. Plasman; she can't sing? That's about 100% better than the caterwauling I do. I still like the song :)

fishducky; I think it's fun too.

Andrew; gay anthem? I hadn't thought of it like that.

Elephant's Child; I had a body like that once. I sure do miss it. Not enough to give up doughnuts though. Maybe.

Susan Kane; I'm disappointed the lyrics video didn't play, it's been banned from my country. (??) But the song is fun.

Lee; I have plenty of umbrellas, but there's no men raining down here. Of course it isn't half past ten yet....

  8. Stopped by to say HI! I don't know if it is gay or not, but I always liked it. Of course, the video of the audition is hot. What's not to like, good looking girl jumping around and getting wet! ha ha ha ha

  9. mohave rat; nice to see you here, welcome to drifting. I don't think it's gay, there's a reference to mother nature rearranging things so that every woman can find the perfect guy. I wish I could jump around like that still.

  10. Loved it! It's a fun song. I'm really glad you posted two videos for it, too, because the first one wasn't '"permitted to upload in my country." The second one did just fine, so I could at least hear it, and see the lyrics. I could imagine my friends and I having fun singing and dancing to that one. If we could still dance...

  12. Susan; I got it the other way around, the first clip showed, but the lyrics one wasn't permitted here. Odd isn't it? They're on the internet, you'd think they could show everywhere.

Barbara Neubeck; it is a very energetic song, makes me feel alive. Geri does look good as a blonde. I don't recall her original colour.

  13. don't you sometimes wish you were that young again and could be free and dance like that!
