Musical Monday # 149
I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.
I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.
Today’s clip is: Gene Pitney

An oldie but a goldie.
ReplyDeleteonly slightly confused; golden oldies are sometimes the best thing I hear all day.
Delete:-)
ReplyDeleteS.J.Qualls; glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteYou definitely do not hear music like this anymore.
ReplyDeleteJimmy; I hear golden oldies on the easy listening station my radio is tuned to. And of course many of them are on my ipods.
DeleteTeen heart throb from back in my day! He died in 2006, age 66, and still sounded good. Gene Pitney Concert 2000
ReplyDeleteGrace; just one of many who died too young.
DeleteGoodness he was young in this clip.
ReplyDeleteI didnt think I knew it - until it started playing...
Perhaps I am not as musically ignorant as I thought.
Elephant's Child; I'm glad you remembered it. He was very young there.
DeleteHis music was a force to be reckoned with in the early Sixties. We had his records...and they were played all the time on the radio.
ReplyDeleteHe was such a huge part of those years.
Happy week, River. :)
Lee; I didn't have any of his records, but we did turn up the radio when dad wasn't home.
DeleteA good one!
ReplyDeletejoeh; one of my favourites.
DeleteHe actually had a voice not an electrician manipulating it in a music booth. I was always drooling for him.
ReplyDeleteJahTeh; oh the days when singers sounded just like they really were, when they had to sound good to get anywhere in the business. Now they're a look-alike bunch of sound-alikes.
DeleteI remember him just.
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; he was just a bit before your time I gather.
Delete.. great to hear this again .. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteBarbara; come back and hear it anytime.
DeleteGood song and I was glad to hear it again. Meanwhile I watched his group surrounding him and it was so obvious they were miserable in the weather, especially one girl. LOL
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; I noticed that too, but it's England. If they wait for a sunny day the video might never get done.
DeleteI've not listened to any by Gene Pitney for quite a time ... this took me back.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; good memories I hope.
