NO NO NO NO NO!!!

I had my story all written out and ready to copy paste and instead of "copy" I clicked on "paste" and the entire thing was replaced by the Words for Wednesday blurb.

I am devastated.  I feel sick at losing all that work.
It wasn't my usual type for five minutes and done.
This was hours of writing and editing to perfection.

I should have printed it first.
I should have printed it first.
I should have printed it first.

From now on I will print everything before saving and scheduling.

I'm so sorry.  I'll try and remember what I wrote :(

  1. Sorry. Through bitter experience I know it is never as good when rewitten after such a loss. My best writing has gone to God.

    1. Andrew; thank you. It's rewritten and posted but something is missing from it now.

  2. I know the feeling. With my poor eyesight I push the wrong buttons a lot.

    1. Belva; I don't generally, my mistake was in not closing the first page I had copied and pasted from, so the paste option was still available when I accidentally clicked on it instead of copy when I'd highlighted the work.

  3. OH, NO! It's never a bad idea to save things as you go along.

    1. Kathy G; saving isn't something I got into the habit of doing. I should, but it seems good habits are harder to learn tan bad ones.

  6. If you wrote directly in blogger then it is automatically saved, if you wrote it in Word then you have the option to autosave at preset intervals. Did you check the draft folder in blogger?

    1. Grace; I wrote on wordpad, I don't even have word, and I was about to copy/paste it to the "new post" page in blogger. The draft folder showed the mistake, as did the saved copy in my documents files.

  7. If you hit Ctrl Z it will undo the previous action or multiple times for previous actions. Other handy key stroke short cuts: Ctrl C to copy, Ctrl V to paste.

    1. joeh; I tried Ctrl Z but didn't think to try it more than once. I'll write a note with the Ctrl C and Ctrl V and stick it to the edge of my computer.

    1. Lee; you heard that? So did my nearer neighbours. One knocked on my door to check I hadn't injured myself.
