OMG facts

I'm off to get a 'fasting' blood test, to check blood sugars and cholesterol. Nothing to eat since 10pm last night and two bus trips to get to the doctor, you can bet your last dollar I'll be carrying a snack to eat as soon as the blood is taken.

1. Brandy is the liquor most likely to cause the most severe hangover.

2. "Only of one thing I am sure: When I dream, I am always ageless."

3. The oldest recipe in existence is a recipe for beer.

4. Without an atmosphere, the surface temperature on Earth at the equator would be 176 degrees by day and fall to -200 degrees at night.

    1. Buttons Thoughts; I won't know the results until I see my doctor tomorrow, another two bus trips, since she is in the same clinic. but at least I get breakfast tomorrow :)

    1. only slightly confused; an atmosphere we need to take care of, can't have the hole in the ozone layer getting any bigger. Someone should get up there and teach the Angels how to darn it, like socks.

  3. A snack will be a good thing after your fasting blood sugar test, I have mine done every three months and our lab opens very early so mine is usually done long before breakfast, but yet I'm not waiting on the bus either, good luck on the results.

Imagine that the recipe for beer is the oldest in existence...

    1. Jimmy; I usually carry a mini bar of chocolate for straight after, but in this heat it would melt, so I carried a sandwich. I should get tested more often, but I only go to the doctor when my asthma prescriptions run out.

  4. Like Jimmy my tests are always done first thing in the morning. Not too bad that way.
Agree with Elizabeth. It is wonderful being strong and sure in my sleep.

    1. Arkansas Patti; first thing in the morning would be great, but the clinic I go to is so far away. A bus to the city, then a bus to the clinic. It's not so bad.
I hadn't noticed that about my dreams, I must pay more attention.

  9. I hope the time passes "fast," and that you don't have any weirdos sit by you on the bus!

    1. Val; I made a classic "senior" mistake on the way home. I used to work in the suburb where the clinic is, so on the way home, got off the bus by the parklands and walked to the nearest bus stop to get the home bus. Completely forgot the home bus travels a different route now and waited far too long for a bus that wasn't coming. Eventually realised my mistake and walked to the next stop to find I had just missed my bus and had to wait for the next one. Thankfully no weirdos today.

  12. I always take a snack, too, and a bottle of water because I can drink that while waiting if I need to! Hope your results are A+.

    1. jenny_o; I had water to drink so that was okay. Results will be less than A+, they're checking my cholesterol which is always a bit high, but just lately a bit higher still, so I'll find out tomorrow for sure if I got a B or a big fat F.
I would have thought a recipe for leftover Mastodon would have come before beer, but back then it was a man's world.
