Sunday Selections #513

Long, long ago, in days of yore...Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Drop in to Elephant's Child and have a look.

Still mostly in the Christmas theme:

"I can't see out properly"

"that's much better"

Yoda has a Christmassy bow tie

"I'm going to help with the decorating" says Meg

"Help! I'm caught in a tinsel avalanche!"

almost finished,

"All done! time for a chocolate covered cherry, Mum says these are not for children, but I don't think she will miss just one."

I hung a small Santa on the front door, don't look too closely at the sloppy paint job

I put out the vintage Santa

and the snow globes, this one is my favourite

of course we can't do without the signpost

I have a new small windmill in the garden

and a couple of hydrangeas, these were on sale at the local Foodland Store, a bit past their prime,

this one is a darker shade, I'm going to water them, cross my fingers and hope for new growth next spring.

  1. I love Meg's outfit, and Santa in his snow globe on his hammock having a much deserved rest!

    1. Sarah; this is Meg's favourite outfit, she wears it most of the time. Santa deserves a rest more than anyone after his Christmas rounds.

  2. Love your selection.
I have a big fondness for snow globes - and it is years since I have seen one. Thank you.

    1. Elephant's Child; I love the snow globes I remember from very early years, when they had much more snow in them.

  3. I always get a kick out of your whimsical Meg posings. In fact, lots of whimsy all the way around today. Can't say that I've seen Yoda as part of a Christmas display before, but I like it! I might've been tempted to hang a couple ornaments (very tasteful ones, of course...) from his ears. :)

Take care, and here's to a happy new year! May 2021 be a heckuva lot better than this one.

    1. Susan; I hadn't thought about using Yoda's ears to hang things from and probably I'll forget by next Christmas. Meg likes to wander around in here, she'd also love to get outside. I hope 2021 is much, much better for everyone.

  4. I hope you and your little mates are enjoying the Christmas weekend, River....and I hope the coming week treats you and the lovely Lady Lola with kindness...cuddles to Lola. :)

    1. Lee; I'm enjoying the quiet and Lola is feeling much better after a visit to the vet. She's hiding under the bed right now because I've just had a houseful of family members drop in to say Hi, two of them came home from Melbourne.

    2. I'm so glad you were able to get together with family, River...particularly those who were able to visit from Victoria. You must have been very happy to have them with you. :)

  5. The vintage Santa is interesting as it shows how Santa's appearance has changed over years. I think you had some good fun with your decorating this year.

    1. Andrew; this is the vintage Santa I found in an op shop last year and picked him up for only $8. He spends most of the year safely bubble-wrapped and I hope to eventually pass him on to a great-grandchild.

    1. messymimi; shhh, don't let her know she's working, she thinks she's having fun. I hope the hydrangeas make it. I may strike a couple of cuttings in the autumn, just in case.

  7. I hope your hydrangeas come through superbly. And I love all the decorations. I did not see a sloppy paint job, so there.

    1. Joanne; thank you, I hope the hydrangeas survive. They are pretty hardy so I think they'll be okay.

    1. Dora; we don't have snow here, that's the biggest difference. Sunshine and blue skies is our Christmas.
