Further to yesterday's Sunday Selections
the Mickey Mouse plant is called Ochna Serrulata and here is the information I gathered via Google:
being indigenous to South Africa it probably isn't a plant that would do well in the northern hemisphere areas such as Europe or the UK unless in a sheltered warm area, such as an airy greenhouse.
I know very little about plants 🪴 ☺️ Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteLinda's Relaxing Lair; there is always google to help or a local nursery.
DeleteThank you. Many South African plants do well here.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; we have similar conditions, hot and dry most of the year.
DeleteI was about to say what EC said. Some very interesting plants come from South Africa.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; like the pyrostegia, the "fire" climber with the bright orange trumpet flowers.
DeletePlanting invasives always makes me wary (not that I plant anything, but people I know who keep gardens). It's always a risk, no matter how pretty the plant.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I don't think this one is an invasive being a shrub, but I am more aware of invasives now than I used to be.
Deletemessymimi; I re-read the description and it is considered an invasive here, yet this is the only one I have ever seen.
DeleteI remember The-Simpsons-episode with the frogs/Toads that invaded your country. Or the bunnies. (A Koala sneaks in on the way to the US in the end)....
ReplyDeleteIris; I don't remember that episode, probably I haven't seen it yet.
DeleteAsk "no-One"?
DeleteIt's a nice plant but I believe it's rather invasive R.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; the google says invasive but I have only ever seen this one bush.
DeleteI can imagine that those berries would be greatly enticing to birds!
ReplyDeletejeanie; I think they would be.
DeleteI have never seen that plant, at least not that I can remember!
ReplyDeleteSteve Reed; have you been to South Africa or Australia? I don't think you will see one in the UK.
DeleteNever heard of this plant.
ReplyDeleteDora; it won't be in your country, but you have plants that we don't.
DeleteIncredible. A gorgeous plant.
DeleteXO
