Sunday Selections # 752

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Possibly Elephant's Child won't be with us this week.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

the new house near my bus stop is coming along nicely, quite large too, I'm wondering if it is actually two houses with a dividing wall in the middle.

some of the seats on the buses have been replaced, the blue red yellow is the old seat which only has a new back in the grey blue diagonal pattern, others have new seat and back.

a small container of gravy from my freezer had a pretty icile pattern which began thawing almost immediately, it was prettier before I took the picture. All the orange dots are frozen fat globules, easy to remove when frozen.

the lid of the container had a similar icicle pattern, I think it might be more easily seen when enlatged, the shards were standing at least a centimetre high in the middle.

this beautiful green shrub with the tiny white flowers is another of the ones I have to hold my breath for when passing, it is a Murraya, also known as mock orange and sweet jessamine I think.

these are the flowers, luckily they don't bloom for long.

deep orange fruits on this tree, smaller than regular oranges, maybe a type used to make marmalade?

it's that time of year again, someone nearby lets their ducks loose to roam and eat snails or whatever they can find, these two were on a patch of nicely tended lawn.

one of my near neighbours has hung fake wisteria from her balcony, it looks nice.

this is my jade "hedge", almost the full length of it, you can see the plum trees haven't yet begun to blossom, I think the bare branches look quite nice

I zoomed in on the jade flowers to catch a bee which took off right before I got the photo

remember mouse mats? I found this old one of mine while searching for something else. Daffy Duck.

another one of my favourite mugs "Just a woman? Oh Hell no! I am a big cup of wonderful covered in awesome sauce with a splash of bitch and a dash of crazy. You be sure to remember that!"

I had a new supply of laundry powder delivered, the boxes look larger than they are, it's the camera angle, but they do weigh 5kg each so I wasn't about to try carrying them on a bus. I don't use much so each box lasts longer than a year.

blog friend Mary in the US found these wonderful bright coloured dishes in a second hand shop (thrift store)

I'm a little jealous because we don't have Fiesta ware here, not that I know of, and these colours are all my favourites.

I got to thinking how nice they would look stacked in my painted (by me) cabinet, which lives in my back porch because my kitchen is too small. The cabinet is already filled with other things though, and I certainly don't need more dishes.

  1. i love to look for old stuff at the thrift stores. To thrift is crazy fun. Ice on stuff, that's what I shot this week too. It's soooooooo fun. For me, would not like a joined house by a wall. Nooooo, too many problems with joined homes. That said, it's another wonderful sunny cool day here. Hope you have a great weekend and boogie boogie.
