Sunday Selections # 751

 Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections. 

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please. 

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

my kindle has a few different images that appear when it shuts down, this is one of my favourites,

this is another. Other pages have birds, fish and some very old authors.

I was very surprised to see speckled eggs when I bought this dozen, it's been over a decade since I saw any, usually they are just plain shells.

on the floor in front of the TV cabinet is where I make my toast, there just isn't enough space or enough power outlets in the kitchen,

too late I noticed the setting was on number three, so I crossed my fingers and hoped the toast wouldn't be too black. It turned out just right! I store the toaster in the kitchen and carry it back and forth.

this is the lint filter from my tumble dryer, opened so I can clean it out, but what do I see in there?

all those brownish fibres are CAT HAIR! I clean off all the cat hair I can see before anything goes into the washing machine, but it seems I still miss a lot.

a different seed pod, this is from the oleander bush, they are long and thin, this one looks fatter because of the camera angle. All those furry little flyers are being blown by the wind, from the middle of July for a few weeks

here you see all the opened pods just waiting for a stiff breeze to send the seeds flying

some don't travel far, landing in drifts along the edges of lawns and paths and building up in the corners of porches.

here you see the garden walls of some newish houses across from my bus stop, they have been constructed without any damp proofing at ground level (the house has damp proofing) and you can see the stains of mildew creeping up. The gardens behind are very small with the houses taking up most of the space, so the sun can't get in there meaning the ground is always damp. The smell of mildew is strong most days and I have to cover my nose and mouth when passing since I am allergic to mould.

Empty Wild Turkey bottle, not something I usually see around here, mostly I see Vodka bottles and fast food detritus.

last week the girls were ready to help Daddy cheer on his football team, the Richmond Tigers. (they lost 😢)
