Words for Wednesday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by jabblog and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.prefer 2.myth 3.common 4.category 5.store 6.image
and/or:
1.flower 2.saintly 3.stormy 4.sheep 5.bank 6.face
use either list or both, or mix and match, just have fun.
My story will appear on this blog on Friday 22nd

chica; thank you, I will come over and read right away.
DeleteThanks for the words. I hope to overcome my irritation with Blogger and get omething written.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; I hope you manage to get something written and posted. I still have no thoughts of a story yet.
DeleteSomething happened that made me write. My WfW is here.
DeleteVoilà:
ReplyDeleteMr Flower prefered to store an image taken of him on a stormy day saintly sitting on a bank with a sheepish face in the common category 'myth'.
Sean Jeating; well done!
DeleteSean: Pobre senyor Flower! ;-)
DeleteShort and fun :D
DeleteIt´s a common myth that images of burgers are really what you see when you get one in the store - other you are really in a high category one.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to yours on Friday!
Iris; very true and the same with pictures on other packaging too. Well done.
DeleteOhh, true, for pizzas too.
DeleteThat´s why I rather cook/bake myself!
DeleteI was on my way home after a trip to the BANK when I saw some daffodils in bloom, bending down I picked myself a bunch then put them to my nose to smell, they of course touched my FACE I often find a FLOWER or two when walking home.
ReplyDeleteThe SHEEP on my walk home looked ever so SAINTLY, butter wouldn’t melt in their mouths, they had tried to get through the fence without much luck, and what a job that would have been for me having to put them all back in the paddock if they had of been successful. Nearly home, thank goodness and it was getting rather dark so looking towards the heavens I realised a big STORM was coming, so I ran the rest of the way up the lane home.
Margaret D; Nicely done, I admire daffodils from a distance, they stuff up my sinuses. I'm glad you didn't have to deal with the sheep.
DeleteYour words always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteMillicent preferred to walk with the grace that defined her. Only common folk stand as if they were dogs. When it came to describing her, Millicent felt that she was placed into the category of being saintly. It was important that others would see the image of a flower in the full bloom of her life. Elegant and gracious.
When Millicent was prepared to gift the world with her presence, she looked in the mirror and smiled at her face. “I am lovely!” she exclaimed. She adjusted her hat and left her abode. She had forgotten her glasses and saw only what she needed to see, which was herself.
Susan Kane; the words this month are not mine, they are from Janice. Poor Millicent forgetting her glasses, although as we age and wrinkle that is sometimes a good thing when looking in the mirror.
DeleteI recently lost about 20 lbs. due to illness, and my arms look like an old woman's arms. Which they are, but they had a little muscle and fat before and the skin was smooth. Now? Old woman arms.
DeleteSusan; mine too, wrinkles and crepe paper skin. But it's better than dying too young.
DeleteTrump supporters prefer to subscribe to a myth rather than accepting the reality that is staring them in the face. A common mistake is to put the aforementioned president in an exclusive category normally reserved for trailblazers and national heroes. They store his image in their minds as though he was somehow godlike. But the Trump flower has withered along with any saintly undertones. The road ahead looks stormy and yet his flock still act like sheep bleating as they tumble down some precipitous bank, afraid to face the truth of his narcissistic incompetence and self-seeking graft.
ReplyDeleteYorkshire Pudding; very well done and true too. Thank you.
