Musical Monday # 128

Image
Musical Monday I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site. I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.  I’ll be finding my clips on you tube , so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist. Today’s clip is:  Dean Martin That's Amore and the lyrics: so you can sing along :)

Sunday Selections # 304

Welcome back to Sunday Selections. Began way back in the mist of time by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock and now continued by me, with a drastic relaxation of rules. Originally meant for showcasing old photos lost on your files, never seeing the light of day, the meme has morphed into photos of your choice, new or old, good or not-so-good, anything you please, but nothing rude please. If you are participating, please leave me a comment so I can buzz along and have a look. Elephant's Child always participates, and her pictures are always worth seeing. I usually have a theme for the week and today I'm featuring things within five minutes from my front door. beginning inside, my Tupperware measuring cups and spoons. I was using these recently when making a banana cake, thinking about when I bought them, and realising they are older than my third child who recently turned 40.  They've had a lot of use over the years and are holding up well. sweet berry truss tomatoes th

Wednesday's Words on a Friday

Wednesday's Words on a Friday The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write, a story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along and read it. This month the words are supplied by Carolyn McBride and can be found here . This week's words are: 1. complicated 2. rodent 3. humor 4. theology 5. nature 6. sarcastic Here is my story: I don't know about you, or anybody else for that matter, but my life doesn't seem to be at all complicated . I am a simple person, with a sense of humor , sometimes sarcastic in nature , more often quiet and self-contained.  I'm not highly educated, there are many things I don't understand: theology , quantum physics, higher mathematics. Perhaps surprisingly, I also don't understand people and how

Today’s clip is:  two for one - Michael Buble Sway his voice does nothing for me, but the dance is worth watching and: Dean Martin Sway I've had this one on before, but it's worth another look; a gentler version of the dance.

Sunday Selections # 303

Welcome back to Sunday Selections! This once-a- week-meme was originally begun by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, as a way to showcase some of the many photos we all take, but don't get around to showing on our blogs. The rules are very simple:- 1. post photos of your choice, old or new, under the Sunday Selections title 2. link back to me, River , somewhere in your post 3. leave me a comment so that I know you've joined in and can come over and see what you've posted. 4. hop on over to Elephant’s Child to see more of her wonderful photos.   I usually go with a theme for my Sunday Selections and this week we'll continue wandering around the gardens of the flats here. another view of the daphne, this is the side facing the sun   the left is a tree, the right is the daphne again and under both is something with glossy leaves. It's a very full little garden patch, these things have been growing for some years, all well established when I fi
