Musical Monday # 126
Musical Monday
I was introduced to
Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way
to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same
time.
I’ll be finding my clips
on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many
versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong
artist.
Today’s clip is: Bill Haley and the Comets
Rock Around the Clock
Who doesn't love this and bop around when it plays on the radio?
When I think of 50's rock and roll, this song always comes up.
ReplyDeletejoeh; and do you get up and dance?
DeleteAlthough one of the 'classics' it's not one of my favorites and I have no idea why.
ReplyDeleteS.J.Qualls; because you dance to a different beat.
DeleteThis brought back a lot of memories!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; good ones of course :)
DeleteOld and gold.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; just like us :)
DeleteI was 11 when this came out...and we loved it then when we were little kids...and we still danced to it years later when started going to the dances and record hops. It was impossible not to want to get up and let our feet and bodies swing to the beat! :)
ReplyDeleteGood stuff!! The old movies were good fun, too!
Lee; I remember mum and Dad taking us to the soccer club on their dance nights and my brother and I would rock to this and others, we were 3 and 5. Growing up though I never went to dances and didn't even know about record hops.
DeleteGot my foot a tapping.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
peppylady (Dora); it's a great foot tapper isn't it? Coffee is on here too.
DeleteYes I'll have to admit to dancing to this when it was first released lol
ReplyDeleteStull dance to it with The Golfer if it's on the radio- maybe not all the way through tho and accompanied by a few pffs
Cathy; I still dance to it, if you can call what I do dancing, but it's moving to music and I have fun even though there's really not enough room here.
DeleteNice to know you dance too.
Makes you want to get up and ROCK...
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; doesn't it? If only the body would co-operate. Still, a bit of bopping around is better than nothing.
Delete.. love this song and the beat is great .. I do dance to this too...
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at the line in the clip that says... Where were you in '62.... well ..I was 20 and married in the year of '62...... great memories.. xxxx thanks River...
.. Barb xxxx
Barbara; in 62 I was ten and still thinking only of beach and library most of the time.
DeleteIt was all about Dick Clark and American Bandstand to me. In front of the the television with all the kids on the show that's where I learned to dance. Loved the 50's.
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; I remember Bandstand, I don't remember what day of the week it was on, but we watched it most weeks.
DeleteGreat old song.
ReplyDeleteMerle.............
Merle; a lot of the old ones are great.
DeleteLove it ... makes things like dusting or ironing much more fun!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; welcome to drifting; I like this old rock stuff when I'm doing the dishes or sweeping.
DeleteI, too think of that song as the ultimate 50s song. I love that era of music.
ReplyDeleteCheryl; me too, 50s and 60s and the 80s were great too. I don't remember much from the 70s, too busy with small children. Of course there was ABBA then and the kids loved their music.
