Decaf December - fail?
Decaf December - Hah!
After many days (6) of making a coffee and drinking it, then realising I was supposed to be doing a Decaf December, I finally managed to get through a whole day without coffee.
Quite by accident!
It was too hot for a coffee on arriving home from work on Wednesday, so I had a milkshake instead, and by bedtime I still hadn't had any coffee.
Off to work on Thursday without a morning coffee, because I never have one before work anway; when I got home, I realised it had been over 24 hours since my last cup.
Woo-Hoo!! I'd done it!! A coffee free day.
Now I just have to do it again.
And again and again and again.....30 days to go.
I'm not at all sure I'm going to make it.

I am emailing you a picture that I stole from someones tumblr, that indicates what I think of decaf december. I think you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you...it's not easy.
ReplyDeleteWell I suppose this is a good thing? But honestly, I do not know why anyone would want to give up caffeine as long as it is simple like a cup of coffee. But if this is what you what River, than so be it. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're doing fine keep going and before you know it you'll caffeine free like me its been 2 years and counting for me :-).
ReplyDeleteI have a giant 'Max' size of coffee in front of me right now.
ReplyDeleteDecaf December has no power over me:)
Why the worry with coffee, River. Is it the caffeine ? Too much coffee has to be bad for you as with all things but one or two cups, can that be so bad?
ReplyDelete...and you want to give up coffee why?! ..does iced coffee count? (says he knowing full well that it does)
ReplyDeleteno-one; I saw it. Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteDelores; it's surprisingly easy.
Rubye Jack; I just saw a challenge and thought I could do it. After it's over, I'll be drinking coffee again.
Windsmoke; I'll never be caffeine free, this is just a one month challenge.
Sarah; a "giant" coffee would see me running to pee for the rest of the night. I'll stick to the small size.
Elisabeth; no worry at all. I saw a challenge and accepted it. I don't challenge myself nearly enough. the coffee wil be back at the end of the challenge.
If you were meant to decaf through December it wouldn't be such a hard job ;)
ReplyDeleteDecember is such a busy month. Maybe another month would be easier?
ReplyDeleteTempo; just to see if I can, no other reason.
ReplyDeleteJayne; it isn't hard at all, just a matter of remembering to reach for the milo jar instead of the coffee jar.
EC; December is probably the easiest month, since I'm so often busy and away from home, I never drink coffee when I'm out.
If you look hard enough, you can find enough days/weeks/months of deprivation to fill up the whole year!! But will it make you a better person?!?!
ReplyDeleteI wish you luck, because even in summer time I'd be having my coffee ala FU* Feel Good!
ReplyDelete* For your non-South Australian readers, 'FU' is Farmers Union!
Red Nomad; will it make me a better person? Of course not. I couldn't possibly get any better since I'm already perfect....
ReplyDelete(anyone who believes this is as delusional as I am...)
Kath Lockett; are you able to get your beloved FU over there?
Oh boy. You're an inspiration. I'm afraid I am quite deliciously hooked on the stuff.
