Sunday Selections # 133

Welcome back to Sunday Selections!

This once-a- week-meme was originally begun by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, as a way to showcase some of the many photos we all take, but don't get around to showing on our blogs.

The rules are very simple:-
1. post photos of your choice, old or new, under the Sunday Selections title
2. link back to me, River, somewhere in your post
3. leave me a comment so that I know you've joined in and can come over and see what you've posted.
4. hop on over to The Elephant’s Child to see more of her wonderful photos.

Kath and Andrew often join in as well.
Although Kath has been very busy these last few months....

I usually go with a theme for my Sunday Selections and this week I'm continuing with some photos of the recent holiday I had way out west.

Hillary's Boat Harbour:

the boats

small boats

bigger boats
this is one of my favourite photos, I love the reflections.

even bigger boats....

and the big boys!

masts against the sky, another favourite photo.

  1. Oooh. Love that harbour - and the reflections and the masts agaist the sky are stunning.

  2. My favorite is the same; mirrored boats.

  3. Thought I'd sail over to your site. I'm glad I did. I love boats and this reminds me of the good times I had in Vancouver.

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend, River.

  4. I love water reflections....like another world behind a rippling mirror.

  5. The smell of the ocean wind, the song of the gulls, and the images of boats on the water--love it.

  6. Aren't Marinas popping up everywhere?
Years ago there were almost none, now just about every seaside town has one. I foresee a great silting up of Marinas as the money to clear them falls ever shorter...

  7. Hillarys has grown so big since I was there years ago. You have definitely decided me that we need to head over the Swan River northwards again.
Love those reflections...they always look fabulous. I am so enjoying your tour of our state, thanks again for some great pics.
Hope your weekend has been good for you.

  8. Elephant's Child; this is the harbour where I photographed the cormorant.

Joanne; it's like two photos in one.

klahanie; do you have any photos of your time in Vancouver?

Delores; an opposite world, where everything is upside down.

Susan Kane; oceans and boats are among my favourite things.

Kymbo; they do seem to be everywhere now. All the fishing spots from the days of our grandparents are now filled with boats.

Mimsie; I hope you manage to get out for another look at all your favourite spots.

  9. All these places I haven't yet been to ... the reflections in your 2nd shot are superb!!!

  10. The first photo is my favourite. I love that reflected cloudy sky, and it all looks so still and clear.

I've finally done a Sunday Selections myself this week!

  11. Red Nomad OZ; I hadn't even noticed the reflections until I saw this on my computer.

Jackie K; i like the reflections myself. I'll come over and have a look.

  14. There's something so lovely about boats reflected on calm water.

    Fab photos River :)

  15. Elliot Macleaod-Michael; welcome to drifting. I don't know how to judge character, but it is a nice place to visit. The West Australian Aquarium is there too.

Andrew; very calm, hardly any wind at all.

Vicki; Thanks, boats and clouds together with calm water make lovely reflections.

  16. Love the reflections too. Living by the lake I never tire of seeing the view at different times of the day. I nipped over to Helsinki in Sunday Selections this week!
