Well, yes...and no.
I also made a beef casserole, a batch of mini meatballs ready for the next batch of spaghetti sauce and a couple of mini meatloaves.
My freezer is full.

Wow. You deserve that cake. And I am super impressed. I think I would have rewarded myself with the cake and cuppa before I did the washing up (telling myself that it would mean only ONE washup).

ReplyDeleteMy daughter is a great baker but you should see the kitchen when she is finished World War3, and guess gets to wash up, I don't mind eating her cakes, much better than mine.

ReplyDeleteVicki; I only have instant, Nescafe or International Roast. I bought the cup at Target about 6 years ago, it's one of my favourites.
jabblog; I spend so much time out and about these days, it's nice to come home and just microwave something good.
No matter how much I try, I usually create a monstrous mess in the kitchen when I'm cooking and baking. But I'm with you; there's no rest in my butt until I get the mess all cleaned up again. Today, I'll be making a big pan of lasagna from scratch, so I'll be creating one of my usual disaster areas, I'm sure. Maybe I'd better bake a cake too, so I can reward myself after I clean up the kitchen. Good idea!

ReplyDeleteIt's always great to have a well stocked freezer. That was a wonderful day's work and yes, you deserved that cuppa and cake. If you were on a cooking show you'd have someone to clean up after you. I think your cooking was probably a lot better than some they dish up.

Mimsie; I won't have to cook for weeks. Unless I suddenly feel the need for steak and chips. I don't like those cooking shows, they do "fancy" foods with weird ingredients. Give me good plain food any day.
