Musical Monday # 18

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is:  Paul McCartney and Wings.
Again.
What? They're a great group.

Mull of Kintyre.
I loved it then, I love it now.

and the lyrics, for those who like to sing along.

Enjoy.
I do like Pipes and Drums bands. Quite a lot.

Comments

  1. I like Paul McCartney - a lot. Bag pipes always make me cry though. Not certain why.

  2. Elephant's Child; because they're melancholy, they have that sound that stirs the soul.

  3. I LOVE this song, always have.

  4. Hi River,

It was number one forever in the UK and as such drove me completely round the bend being played constantly.

I much prefer "Live and Let Die"

  5. I loved "Mull of McIntyre", too...as well as the bagpipes. I've always loved the bagpipes. They're very emotive, very stirring.

  6. Huge fan of the bagpipes...and the song is one of my favourites.

  7. Mulling over the term 'mull' I eventually discovered it was deemed to be a rocky outcrop of land jutting out to the sea, much of a wasteland with no mention of pipes or bags.
Must admit I liked the music, but not incessantly

  8. Yes, loved Mull of Kintyre.
But I do wish Paul would stop singing now, he’s quite embarrassing to listen to. His voice has gone

  9. Bagpipes stir up memories and history long past. Thanks.

  10. Jackie K; me too, from the first moment I heard it.

Plasman; I had the same problem with Abba's Mamma Mia, it seemed to get played every half hour for a year. I'd forgotten about Live and Let Die.

Lee; bagpipes do stir something in most people.

Delores; Most people I know in real life hate the bagpipes, it's nice to find so many out there who like them.

Vest; I looked up "Mull" the first time I heard the song. I imagine the song might get annoying if played non stop.

Friko; I haven't heard Paul singing for a while now, only his old stuff on the radio. Sad if his voice has gone, but something that must be faced as he ages. He's over 70 now I believe.

Susan Kane; memories and history? You'll have to write about those because now I'm curious.

  11. I know the song of course but had not heard it done by Paul and I think it is a beautiful version. Thank you for sharing with us.
