In the Sunday Mail (Adelaide’s Sunday newspaper) By Melissa Leong “I wonder if we’re losing our capability for rational discussion” There’s no question that the world is in the toilet right now. And I mean right at the bottom of the bowl, you know? Sure, as long as there have been people on the planet, we’ve had or issues. But at present it certainly feels as though things have hit a fever pitch that only dogs and bats should be able to hear. As such, I don’t think anyone can be blamed for being a little (or a lot) up in arms, From the atrocities of war and political injustice to social inequality; tragedy and environmental disaster, there’s a lot to be angry, sad and confused about, that’s for sure. I don’t know about you, but every day feels a bit like a powder keg waiting to blow at any given moment. As our patience wears thin on the issues we care about, I’m noticing that a new kind of worrying trend is rising in tandem. For the sake of our conversation, I’m going t...
Yep, spiders, snakes, and old bones included! Ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteSharon Qualls; maybe even an old bear skin rug, complete with bear :)
DeleteFunny!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; I thought so too :)
DeleteNot enough windows for my fussy self.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; you could drill a few skylights :)
DeleteA Saturday auction up at Coober Pedy! :)
ReplyDeleteLee; I hadn't thought of that :)
DeleteThat is funny :)
ReplyDeleteJimmy; I have another, similar one, but can't find it :)
DeleteLol - Lee's right about the Coober Pedy real estate. Tunnel homes are much cooler. Deep and dark - no need for a window cleaner!
ReplyDeleteCathy; I've heard about the Cobber Pedy homes and seen a few on TV, but I'd love to go there in person one day and see them. I've heard the underground temperature is stable all year round, so no need for airconditioning either.
DeleteHighRiser is posting on architecture too, but it is a hideous blight planned for Perth's great park.
ReplyDeleteI hope that one doesn't succeed.
"Flintstones! they're the Flintsones!
houses built into earth mounds can look terrific and there are plenty of cute photos on Houzz.com and Pinterest.
Whenever I see hurricane devastation on the news I always wonder why they don't rebuild underground to be safe from the next one.
Ann ODyne; I've read Andrew's post and hope that chair lift doesn't happen. It will spoil Kings Park for sure.
DeleteI wonder the same thing about houses in hurricane areas, it would be easier than rebuilding and refurnishing each time.
We have a house built into a hill somewhere on the outskirts of Adelaide, in the hills area, but on the other side from where my daughter lives. It's featured in the paper now and again. Once it was for sale and I hoped to win the lottery and buy it, but that didn't happen.
There was an underground home near to the hubs folks when we were dating......always wanted to see what it looked like inside.
ReplyDeleteonly slightly confused; probably like any other home, but without windows.
