The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Shades of Chuck Berry and "You Never Can Tell"...
ReplyDeleteGrace; I'd forgotten "You Never Can Tell", thank you for reminding me.
DeleteNot a song I had ever heard. And I do hope that she can STILL rock and roll.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; NEVER? Then I'm glad I put it here for you. I'm sure she can and will still rock and roll.
DeleteHmm, now i wonder how long it will last. Great song.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; if the clip is anything to go by, it didn't even last as long as the reception...
DeleteNew to me also.
ReplyDeletejoeh; new to you too? But it's an oldie from last century.
DeleteNever heard that one. The video was great. Do THE PONY! Heh, heh, that makes me chuckle extra, just because of THE PONY.
ReplyDeleteVal; I'm honestly surprised that so many of you haven't heard this before. I guess it only got played here in Australia, where it was very popular. I hadn't made that PONY connection.
DeleteShe'll ditch the dweeb of a husband, have the marriage annulled (hours after the wedding is no problem), head into the sunset with the cool guy. Why, oh why did she choose such a loser?
ReplyDeleteSusan Kane; why indeed? That would be the question of the year.
DeleteIt didn't make it to my charts either. Think if it had, it would have been a hit here also.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; I'm sad that so many of you have never heard this before.
DeleteI never heard that song before, but I like it. They should have a similar song (or at least one verse) for us grannies... WE used to rock 'n' roll, too!
ReplyDeleteSusan; It's a great song isn't it? I remember rocking and rolling too, but never very well, I didn't actually learn the moves, but that doesn't stop me even now, from bopping around to music while I dry the dishes.
DeleteIt appears both you and I are feeling the music, River! :)
ReplyDeleteLee; there's not enough music in my life these days, what with family stuff, TV, computer and a stack of books half a mile high all calling for my attention.
DeleteHi River! I'm at work and my computer here doesn't have sound...most likely so I can't goof off listening to music! Ha! I'll check it out when I get home! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBecky; I hope you do remember to check it out, it will get your toes tapping.
DeleteOh wow, I really liked it! And I am another who never heard it, but it would've been a hit here, I'm sure. Don't be sad so many of us never heard it...be happy you introduced us to new music! Maybe you can start a new thing! Remember when practically all of us bloggers had a Playlist on our blogs? I loved setting that up with so many favorite songs!
ReplyDeleteUnknown; musical Monday isn't a new thing, it used to run here every Monday for about three years, until I got annoyed that suddenly so many clips weren't able to be played in a different country and then I quit. Now I just put up a song when the mood strikes me. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Where are you from?
