The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Darn people who want to scam others.
ReplyDeletepeppylady (Dora); it's just so annoying.
DeleteMaybe call The Geek Squad and see if they have any suggestions????
ReplyDeleteonly slightly confused; there's a geek squad? In the phone book?
DeleteSo sorry you are being tormented and thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; it isn't me being tormented, it's all you people out there who are receiving emails supposedly from me. I don't get the emails myself, only a heads-up from someone else who got one.
DeleteThey will always be with us.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; they really need to find something else to do.
DeleteYou are having a hard time of it lately. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeletejenny_o; I heard from someone recently that has more than one email address and apparently has been getting spam emails "from me" for years now :(
DeleteI try to be cautious. If it is a name I do not know, or a business, I don't open it.
ReplyDeleteSusan Kane; that's always the best way.
DeleteAre they hacking back into your account, or have they copied your contact list and kept it and just keep sending stuff out periodically? Either way, it's annoying.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I suspect they've just copied the contact list and now these emails are computer generated. I went through the list yesterday and deleted 95% of contacts so we'll find out soon if they keep using the old list or somehow get the new one.
DeleteThose Mumbai escorts won't leave me alone! The spam filter used to catch anonymous commenters, but it stopped.
ReplyDeleteKathy's Klothesline; mine too. Every now and again one gets through, so you have to do the whole routine again. Go to your comments, tick the spam one, mark it as spam and then go into your spam folder and delete it. That should keep them away for a while as your filter recognises them again.
DeleteThanks for that.
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; you're welcome.
DeleteThanks, River. I'll get "Red" onto their tail!!!
ReplyDeleteLee; That could work, "Red" is in prison, but that doesn't seem to stop him from outside contacts.
DeleteI've stopped alerting people,. At this point most people can sniff this crap out easily. Like Joanne says they will always be with us...we need to learn to ignore.
ReplyDeletejoeh; I know most people are wise to these things, but I have a few readers new to me, so I put up a warning just in case.
DeleteIt is hard work, but maybe you should change your email address. And if you change to gmail from yahoo, I will a notification as soon as you comment.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; changing the address means notifying at least three dozen people that I can think of and that's just the ones who don't blog.
