Honey I'm home..
..and feeling quite tired after an afternoon, a night and half a day in the fresh hills air and time spent with daughter, grand daughter and great grandson who has far more energy than I do and is now expanding his vocabulary daily.
He isn't used to me since I rarely see him, but he warmed up enough to share a bowl of chips (crisps) with me and some of his toys.
I'm catching up on your posts and then I'll have an early-to-bed-night.
The surgery went well and my vision is clearing more now. I still have drops to put in the first eye four times a day, and now I have more drops for the second eye. Also four times a day.
I never realised just how short a four hour time span could be. Time for the drops already? Didn't I just do that?
Good to have you back and yes, the eye drops!
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; those oh-so-stingy eye drops. Ow ow ow.
DeleteYippeeee for all going well! I have drops for the day and night... Glad we have that!!! And for being home!
ReplyDeleteIris; these drops are specific for after surgery, one I think is antibiotic to prevent infection as the eye heals, two of the drops sting like very salty water and one doesn't.
DeleteI am so glad that the surgery went well and am sure that your great grandson does have more energy than you do. Good that he was ready to share his chips and toys with you too.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; those were MY chips, but I was happy to share, he really is a delightful little boy, loves trucks and dozers, all kinds of machinery, goes around kicking the tyres to be sure they're "good".
Deletei wondered how you were getting on. Glad to hear that everything went without a hitch and that you're home again. How nice to be able to spend time with your great-grandson. I expect he was just getting used to you when you had to leave.
ReplyDeleteI hope Lola has forgiven you for abandoning her again.
jabblog; thank you. I had someone come to stay with Lola this time, so she coped a lot better.
Delete4 hourly on both sides would definitely be tedious. But at least you don't have to strip to reach your eyes. If you had to treat your big toes each four hours, there might be two big problems:
ReplyDelete1. Reaching that far down and
2. Taking your shoes and socks off, each time.
hels; if I had to treat my toes I'd be wearing my ugg slippers, easy on and off. Plus I can sit and lift each foot in turn, so it wouldn't be so bad. The four hourly drops is okay, I just get surprised by how quickly four hours can pass.
DeleteI'm very glad the cataract surgery is going well. The eye drop rotation seemed endless when I did it. No sooner finished with one set than another was up! I needed a chart to get it all right. I don't think any of them stung though.
ReplyDeleteBoud; I have charts for each eye and I put then on the bathroom mirror, so as I complete each set of drops I cross it off. The stinging becomes less as the eye heals.
DeleteFour hours really can go quick. I love that you shared a bag of crisps. Cool that you got to spend time together. Here's to continued healing on your eyes. PS: Thank you for your kind words about my banner.
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk; I always love your banners. I'm pleased the great grandson is outgoing enough to quickly accept people he doesn't know well. The twin grand daughters are the same, not at all shy, but they have older brothers, so they are used to many people.
DeleteThank you. Yes, I can understand that. It's nice that they can open up and be comfortable. Very, very wonderful news.
DeleteHappy to hear from you again. I cross all I can, and send a fervent prayer that you'll soon be out of the worst. Four hous is not long when we're with family ;)
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; the worst is almost over, all the drops, then only a couple of check up appointments and a month after that new glasses.
DeleteGood to hear that you now have both eyes done, and are on the way to full recovery. What a nice visit, though I can imagine how tiring it could be with a little guy full of energy.
ReplyDeleteVal; thank you. B is full of energy, but has a nap during the day and sleeps well all night. And other family members were there as well, all people he already knows well.
DeleteI'm so glad it went well and hope your recovery is quick and smooth.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; things do seem to be healing well, the hardest part is the stinging eye drops every four hours, but it's bearable when I know the result will be clear vision. I also have to keep reminding myself to not bend over as that puts pressure on the back of the eyeball which needs to be avoided while the healing goes on.
