Wednesday's Words on a Friday
this herring fishing boat also fits with Charlotte's colour of the month Pumpkin Orange
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by Sean Jeating and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.instruction 2.stupidity 3.ignorant 4.disregards 5.joined
and/or:
1.shy 2.not 3.means 4.from 5.destruction
Here is my story, a further chapter in Jim's Shipwreck
After dessert and coffees, Russell and his crew started walking back down the mountain, when halfway there Sunny suddenly lunged against her leash and began growling. Theo stopped and tried to calm her, but she insisted on running towards the restricted area. As they got closer Russell noticed torches and a man with a huge camera mounted on his shoulder.
“Honestly! Those damn reporters have no respect at all do they!” he said. Theo
said “the stupidity of ignorant people never ceases to amaze me, watch that
idiot, he looks, then completely disregards the sign with the clear instruction
to stay behind the fencing. He has no idea of the destruction he could cause!”
Russell yelled, “Oi!
You with the camera! Do you not understand what the sign means? Get away from
there!” The one carrying two torches joined the cameraman. “We’re not harming
anything, just want a couple of shots for our editor.”
“It’s delicate ground!”
shouted Russell. "A boy just walking along fell into the cave just from the
earth collapsing under him!” “You could suffer the same fate,” said Theo,
keeping a tight hold on Sunny’s leash. “Tell your Editor to come and see me
himself during daylight hours. I’ll tell him when he can send reporters and
cameramen. Unless he’s too shy to show his own face!”
Reporters seem to be the same everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThere could be a tragedy in the making. People are so foolish.
