Words for Wednesday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by Sean Jeating and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.innocent 2.evil 3.face 4.expanding 5.born
and/or:
1.come 2.surprise 3.planet 4.minor 5.follow
use either list or both, or mix and match, just have fun.
Include Charlotte's colour of the month if you wish or if you can: pumpkin orange.
My own story will appear on this blog on Friday 24th
His face appeared so innocent but he was born evil and expanding his sinister ways every day.
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh; excellent and so short.
DeleteBen trobat, encara que sigui curt. ;-)
DeleteSome are like that.
DeleteInnocent children have always been born who became evil bastards. Given the growing human population, it should come as no surprise that there are more evil bastards on this planet today than ever before. They would, however, be a minor problem. The problems are caused, or rather, exacerbated, by a majority who allow criminal psychopaths to run their business instead of stopping them or, as recently to observe, even enthusiastically elect a pumpkin-orange idiot as their president.
ReplyDeleteSean Jeating; another excellent one with much truth to it.
DeleteVery sad and true...
DeleteFins que els toqui la butxaca... ;-)
DeleteTot i que crec que hi ha algún gen desequilibrat que en té part de culpa de que hi hagi gent tant malvada. No creus?
It's sad what some people grow up to be.
DeleteWorking on it, back soon.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; see you soon.
Deletemessymimi; a beautiful story, thank you.

Before I met Sean Jeating I was quite innocent. Then I spotted his contorted face through my letterbox and henceforth my horizons started expanding. I was born to trust and when I come to think of it, the powerful influence he exerted over me should have come as no surprise. It was like being transported to another planet - a minor one if you follow me. There it was as if the natural colours of Nature had been turned a vile pumpkin orange colour. I wonder where Sean Jeating is now
Yorkshire Pudding; quite intriguing, a bit nightmarish even.
DeleteHe, he, he! ... busca'l que el trobaràs!
Delete;-)
DeleteNicely done.
DeleteHappy Writing!
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk; thank you.
DeleteThanks for stopping in on my Wordless Wednesday. The calendar is great fun. We've been opening them each Friday. Now we have two to open this coming Friday and then one last one to open on Halloween Friday. Really, really, really fun. Tim bought it at TJ/TK Maxx. Regarding the cup you asked about. I got that at HomeGoods/HomeSense a few Halloween seasons back. If you lived closer, I'd happily gift you one of the three that I own.
DeleteThe Happy Whisk; thank you, but truthfully, I already have far more coffee mugs than I have space for.
DeleteGood stories, lol.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; we have good writers. Thank you.
DeleteHehe, just a short one from what happened to me yesterday:
ReplyDelete"Ingo and also fK advised I go to the new boss´s welcome party to show my innocent, not so evil face.
To some it was a surprise as I usually work from home. They were happy to see me - talked to the CEO and he smiled as I had come in my happy red, white-polka-dotted coat he always enjoys.
Despite I had a brolly with me, this planet gave us rain whilst boss stood outside grilling sausages.
I offered my brolly - violet with white polka-dots. New boss sure now knows me."
Iris; thank you, I like this and I am glad you went to the welcome party.
DeleteNo hi ha com caure bé al cap, almenys al principi. ;-)
DeleteNext promotion is (almost) guaranteed. ;-)
DeleteIt sounds like it worked out well for you to be there.
DeleteThank you all. Haha, promotion... I work as a trainee and hope they keep me. That would be a promotion for sure!
DeleteMy short story will be here tonight.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; I will be there a bit later, just got home from visiting the twins and their mum.
DeleteWhat a wonderful way to keep the writing tradition alive, even with Delores closing her blog! It's so thoughtful to keep the spirit of Words for Wednesday going.
ReplyDeleteGERMANS
Moltes gràcies!
What would have to be proven. However, blessed be your optimism. A lovely story it is, anyway.
DeleteAferradetes, Paula.
Let's hope it can happen. Nicely done!
Deletesa lluna; this is quite true, bullies often fold when confronted by the masses. Thank you
These are fabulous words to work with. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteMoltes gràcies!
DeleteAquí ja és de nit. ;-)
DVArtist; thank you, you have a nice day too.
DeleteMy take on the prompts (this and last weeks):
ReplyDeleteFiction: Ghosts in the Machines.
Have a lovely day.
lissa; on my way now....
DeleteFar from where Alexander met his fate, the innocent wood elves continued their journey to find Queen Legodia's throne and the evil King Oom. Thal would have to challenge him face to face in order to claim the throne and kingdom as rightfully his by birth.
ReplyDeleteKing Oom had been expanding the kingdom, but not by conquering adjacent kingdoms in battle. His method was to bully landowners until they signed away their land for pennies on what they paid for it; or he would take it by eminent domain even if the land had been in the same family for centuries. Laughing as his men burnt houses and barns, he would toss a few coins to the families that had been heirs born to the land before King Oom was even a thought in his father's pocket.
It would come as no surprise to Elder Elowin how King Oom had been growing his kingdom, but she wasn't with the four as they traveled again at the earliest hours of the day. Vondran had been silent as the closer they came to the kingdom, the greater the risk to their lives.
There are many on this planet we call home that would betray their closest friend or family, neighbor, town, even country for the most minor of reasons for financial gain. Vondran knew of Kael's past and had reason to believe that if offered the right price, he would betray them all.
Thal sensed that Vondran was concerned about Kael but couldn't pinpoint why. It was the least of his worries for the moment because he also sensed that they were being followed. But no matter how hard he tried to get Vondran to speak to him and tell him who it was, he'd not been able to get a response from Vondran. He hesitated to mention it to Kael or Eldrin because he didn't want to frighten Lyri... something he needn't worry about.
At the next break they took for a meal, it was Lyri who brought up the "shadow" that crept along in the woods parallel to their every step.
Oooh! Things are getting exciting....
