Sunday Selections #776
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
the redheads are reunited at last: Gillian, "I missed you so much"
"we have a lamp now! and a table"
"Mum made them for us"
"Come back inside and see what I brought you"
"Christmas dresses!!"
"We love them 😀 thank you Aunty N"
Riley: "I'm a (Christmas) Tree standing under a tree"
This is one of our public phone booths out on the street
Looks a little beat up, it's had a hard life
But here's the best part, free calls for everyone to anywhere in Australia.
Stepping up and up
and up again
to clean the filters in this contraption
all done, time to push the table back under the window
almost there
and back to normal
Charlotte's colour of the month is Carmine and I found a few more examples:
the seat covers on some of our buses are close to carmine
and so is the small tin which I have had for years that once held chocolate covered hazelnuts
and now holds my Christmas Bracelets
in other news, sad news, my kindle has died, with just over 400 books that I didn't yet transfer to a hard drive 😢😢
Will not turn on and will not charge up. I am bereft.

You'd be hard pressed to find a public phone like that anywhere in America.
ReplyDeleteThose dolls are so darn cute and their new Christmas dresses are ADORABLE! I can't remember the last time I saw a public pay phone here in Canada. And condolences on your Kindle dying -- that's a lot of books to lose, alas.
ReplyDeleteOMG. They have holiday dresses. How stinkin' cute is that!
ReplyDeleteThose doll are too cute. I haven't seen a phone booth here in the US in decades. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteLove the redheads’ reunion, so warm and joyful. The public phone booth is a charming relic, carmine pops beautifully everywhere. Sorry about the Kindle loss, that’s a hard blow.
ReplyDeleteSuch festive Christmas dresses! They put me in a holiday mood for next Christmas! My dad worked for the phone company when it was Southwestern Bell, before it became AT&T. One of the highlights was when I was around 9-10, and he brought home a shipping crate from a phone booth. We laid it on its side in my next-door grandpa's backyard. It wasn't solid. More like 1x8 slats. We made a "tank" out of it, to play in with neighborhood friends. All boys but one. Late 60s, early 70s was a great time to be a kid!
ReplyDeletePay phone are free?! I can't remember the last time I saw a payphone here in the US. When I worked for AT&T, I repaired payphones for a few years. It's amazing what people can do to them when they're mad at the phone company.
