Musical Monday # 95

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: the Lovin' Spoonful

Summer in the City

  1. I love it. I guess the clip has nothing to do with the song but what great fun.

I wonder how they came up with the name for their band it's one of the best ones.

  6. Andrew; it is fun to watch, I suppose the connection is it's a city and it's summer.

Elephant's Child; I did feel a bit sorry for those racing horses, but fun apart from that.

Plasman; Hey, we have something in common!

Merle; who knows where bands get their names, some are pretty stupid, but this one is okay.

Lee; I have it on my ipods so hear it fairly often. Carefree days....sigh.

  8. 10cc used the same idea for their name. I don't like to mention the source with ladies present.

  10. Margaret-whiteangel; it's a fun clip, I like to find things people can smile at.

R.H. I don't mind if you keep your secret, most of the time I don't care about how bands find their names. The music is more important to me.

Lon Anderson; welcome to drifting, although I think you've been here before? a long time ago.

  11. It's not my secret, I don't care about bands at all, I do care that my surname has become fashionable as a Christian name. Never mind, when you come here we'll still groove, do the bump on the steps of Flinders Street Station. How's that. I'm careful nowadays, if I did it with Copperwitch I'd be needing a hip replacement.

  12. Hey guess what? I remember this song so well and it was one I really enjoyed and I also remember the band. The film clip was a lot of fun.
I've never actually thought about how bands get their names....not interested.

  13. R.H. some surnames work well as Christian names, others, you wonder what the parents were thinking.

Mimsie; I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
