Elephant's Child; it was an incredibly peaceful day here, not a sound from the neighbours until after 5pm. I have a ten pack of the balloons, so I'm good for the next few years.
Happy Australians Day! You know for people who've never been to Australia we have A LOT of conversations about Australia. Almost daily! I can't get over all of the deadly bugs and snakes you have over there and how the kangaroos have the upper bodies of men, so weird. My son has a friend that lives over there and he says it's safe to be there. I'm still not convinced. :)
Magical Mystical Mimi; it's very safe! Millions of Aussies can't be wrong, right? Most of the deadly snakes are out in the countryside, ditto kangaroos. We do have spiders in the cities as well as the countryside and even further out which we call "the outback", but you people have spiders too, don't you? You have your Black Widow, which is our Redback and you have huntsman spiders, just like ours. It's nice that you have conversations about Australia :)
Arkansas Patti; thank you. It isn't breezy enough inside the house for a balloon to fly away, thank goodness. I'm not up to chasing a flying Meg across the continent.
Lee; Lola has found a new hidey-hole out in the back porch, so often I don't see her for hours at a time. She sneaks out to eat when I'm asleep. She will still get onto my TV chair with me when I'm in the mood for watching, so I can assess her then and see she is okay. She has been letting me pick her up for proper cuddle lately, so that's nice.
Dora; the day was full of peace and quiet, much better than the usual ruckus going on between neighbours here. Perhaps they're all starting to "grow up".
Hope you had a happy one. FB reminded me 2019 we had one, also, see here, if you like, it was wonderful. It´s great you can celebrate. Germans certainly can not, uhhh, bad us with that Austrian guy who caused so much trouble...
Not exactly environmentally friendly...... Line the base of your oven with a sheet of aluminium foil. If you keep a tray there to catch spills and overflows, line the tray with aluminium foil instead. It's much easier to throw away a sheet of foil (once it's been spilled on a few dozen times), than it is to scrub off baked on spillovers.
I shall keep this short and sweet. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I am truly surprised to have received this: Laughing Horse Award from Yorkshire Pudding , also known as YP, for being the Australian Blogger of the Year. Click the link to read the nice things he said.
You all know the ice cream company? Very expensive ice cream, which I recently discovered in small tubs at my local supermarket. I'd heard about Salted Caramel ice cream, with some bloggers raving about it, so when I saw the Haagen-Dazs tubs on sale for only $5 I bought some. I loved it! Fabulous stuff. Just the right amount of salted caramel streams to counteract the sweet ice cream. I would have rated it five stars. But just lately, I have been disappointed with the product containing far too much of the salted caramel and my rating now would be only one star. I went to the website and clicked on "contact us" to let them know I was no longer happy. The link popped up with an address to "General Mills" which I then clicked on only to find a small popup informing me they were "offline". Just because it is past regular business hours or permanently? Who knows. So I'm airing my grievance here instead. If this results in fewer sales of their Sa
Indeed Meg. Do take care and Happy Australia Day.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; thank you.

WWW; and so you should, it's a day for ALL citizens.
DeleteHappy Australians Day. You and Meg really know how to celebrate. That balloon was big enough to carry her off. Glad it didn't.

DeleteHappy Australian Day. Australia is the one country I wish I could visit.
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; you can visit, just wait until Covid is under control and bring plenty of sunscreen. A truckload should be about enough.
DeleteThanks, River.....I hope you had a pleasant Australia Day...you, Meg and Lola. :)
ReplyDeleteOur annual "lane" party was very enjoyable...a nice group of people...very relaxed. Take good care. :)
