Wednesday's Whim

On a whim, I felt like putting a song here for you all and I want to show everyone above the equator what Australia looks like

So here it is: by Midnight Oil: This is Australia

I tried finding one with the lyrics, but none came up in the search window. I'm sure they can be found online somewhere.

Also, Happy Birthday "no-one" πŸ’–πŸ’–

Thank you for the trip to Australia. A place I always wanted to see. Loved the visit and the price was just right. Also I don't feel the least jet-lagged. You have quite a country.

  7. Thank you for this musical picture of Australia. It is truly beautiful, although this film makes me wonder if it had the city / nature ratio is quite right. I hope not as big cities are not my cup of tea, really.
PS. I found the lyrics online ;) They seem a bit dystopian - I hope ironic. The anthem in the end is beautiful, I never heard it before, so I feel much wiser today. Thanks for educating me.

    1. Charlotte; the big cities are the state capitals, each being on the coast. Many smaller towns are not featured but we have them and most of the central area is uninhabitable due to a lack of water. There are farms, ranches and sheep stations out there, also tiny towns where the opal fields are.

    1. Yorkshire Pudding; that's true, but I'm wondering if it isn't edging towards 300 years now? Or at least 250. I don't remember when the country was first colonised by the British. The Indigenous peoples have been here for thousands of years.
