you might have noticed I wasn't around today

I spent the day with family and friends of family, at my grand-daughters baby shower.

The weather was perfect, the food was great, games were played, groups of people formed, moved apart, reformed with different faces. So much chatter all around, it was so wonderful. I didn't take the camera, but wished later that I had. I can't post photos of people without their permission anyway.

I'm home now and so very tired, all the sunshine and clean hills air will see me sleeping very soundly very soon. I don't even need to cook dinner! Not after all the food I ate there.

  1. That's lovely for you. Tiring such things might be, but you have all the time in the world to recover. It is important to stay connected with family.

    1. Andrew; it was a very lovely day and I don't think I have talked to people so much in years! I was falling asleep by 7pm, just barely managing to stay awake to see the news and weather once I got home. I spoke a long time with the great-grandmother of the father-to-be, she's a lovely lady with seventeen grandchildren! Her husband is ninety and quite a funny man, although less chatty.

  2. Such a happy-happy post!!!!
Yes, one arvo with the Nieces and I´m tired to the brim.
    Oh, that sounds sooo good!
Good times often means we - even if we have a cam at hand - forget to take pics as we live in the moment.
    That is good!

    1. Iris; it was a happy and fun day, many people were young friends of the soon-to-be-parents, they'd known since school days and kept in touch, several were cousins of both E and J, altogether around 60 people were there.

  3. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day away from the computer.

    1. Charlotte; it was and I didn't miss my computer time at all. I should get away from the keyboard more often.

    1. Jenn Jilks; it was fun! I was nervous for the whole week before, because I'm not social and don't get out much, but I am so glad I went. Grand daughter is looking so well with the baby only about seven weeks away now.

    1. Val; I do love babies and this will be my first great-grandchild. Most of the people there were young, friends of the parents-to-be.
