Ow Ow Ow!

I had my shingles and pneumonia vaccinations today, one in each arm. One of them hurt like hell and I think I'm going to be quite a bit sore tomorrow.

I'm even more sorry now for babies who have several vaccinations throughout their first years.

I plan on staying home tomorrow, probably spending a lot of time napping. In the first week of next month I will have my annual flu vaccination and maybe another covid booster.

    1. Mike; if they both get sore I'll have to sleep sitting up.

  2. I felt like such a traitor when I held down toddler Genius to get FOUR shots in the tops of his plump little 6-month-old thighs. He went from being a happy smiling sweetie to shooting me a look like "How could you betray me like this???"

    1. Val; I was there when the twins each got two shots and felt truly awful there was nothing I could do to ease their screaming. Next time round they each get four shots and S is planning to have J there to help. I may be there as well, to make the cups of tea when they are exhausted later.

    1. Andrew; I'm not as sore as I expected, just felt it when raising the arm for the washing and deodorising part of the morning. I even slept on that side last night. I'll get my flu and covid jab later in the month.

  5. I meant to get my shingles and pneumonia jabs last autumn but wimped out. I shall have to be braver this year now that I am officially an OAP.

    1. JayCee; yes, get them both. one hurts a LOT going in, I think it's the shingles one, but that's a lot better than getting shingles and suffering for months.

  6. The shingles injection was the worst ever!! I usually have a high threshold for jabs and pain and after effects but that one sent me to bed for a day and a half! Glad you got both, though, you will be able to fight the evil yet again! Good on you!

    1. Linda Sue; I have a high threshold too, but I really felt that one going in and worried that I'd be too sore to do anything, but I was fine apart from aching when I had to raise my arm for the washing and deodorising this morning.

    1. Dora; yes, check into your pneumonia jab. You don't have asthma like I do but I still think it is essential for all older people who take longer to fight off lung infections.

  8. As bad as they are, the illness is worse. And yes, i always feel sorry for babies when they have to get shots, too.

I will pray you feel much better quickly.

    1. messymimi; thank you for the prayers, I was fine almost immediately just as I always am. Babies these days get more shots than when we were babies and it's heart breaking hearing them scream knowing there is nothing we can do.
