Sunday Selections #699
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
A short selection today of photos from the twins recent birthday party, where guests were asked to wear their best or favourite "onesies". I don't have one and wasn't going to ride the bus in my pyjamas!
Wackadoo, the twins are two!
Bluey and friends decorated the room
the kid size table loaded with small presents
fruit salad to nibble while other things got cooked
suasages and onions to be eaten with bread and tomato sauce (sausage sizzle), the small round paper cups to the left held hot chips (fries)
vegetable salads
music from this little boom box with a colour changing light screen
a pink flamingo standing guard over several flats of seedlings
then it was time for the gardening activity
four little girls had fun and help to fill four planter boxes with potting soil and flowers
the twins wore their fluffy bunny suits and they needed them, it was so cold that day
The visiting girls are sisters W and C who also had recent June birthdays, one turning six and one turning four.
then it was back inside with a change of clothes for the twins and time to feed chips to Daddy
at last it was birthday cake time and we all sang Happy Birthday with a muddle up fitting all four names in.
I love the bunny suits! Looks like a lively event. We have days at school when the kids all wear onesies or pajamas -- but yeah, like you, I do not take part.
ReplyDeleteSteve Reed; it was reasonably lively and more noisy after the older brothers got home from the movies, which they went to in their onesies.
DeleteIt looks like a really lovely day. No onesie here either.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; it was a lovely day, apart from the icy weather, sunny, but so cold!
DeleteThat looks like a fantastic party, and yummy food. I love the hoods with ears on the bunny suits. Good call on not wearing pajamas on the bus!
ReplyDeleteVal; the food was yummy, thought the fruit salad didn't last long once the girls got to it, they all love fruit. The bunny suits are almost too small now, I think that was the final wearing of them. None of my pyjamas are warm enough to be travelling in.
DeleteAmazing,
ReplyDeletethe twins must have enjoyed it!!
Nice choice to wear pajamas!!
Katerinas Blog; the twins had a great day and didn't even nap like they usually do.
DeleteNow I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteMike; reach into the screen and help yourself :)
DeleteIt looks like a wonderfully wackadoo celebration!
ReplyDeleteBob; it was ! The girls were dancing when the boom box was on.
DeleteSuch a grand party!
ReplyDeleteLinda Sue; it was and we all had fun.
DeleteOnesies are comfortable, warm and easy to look smart in. Nothing hangs out and nothing dangles down, although changing nappies takes much longer.
ReplyDeletehels; all true and there are so many really cute styles available these days.
DeleteIt looks like a grand celebration for 2, 4 and 6. I wear a night gown and slippers. What did you wear?
ReplyDeleteJoanne; I knew it would be cold so I just wore fleecy track pants and a very warm top with extra layers under it.
DeleteOh, you meant for sleeping? Flannelette pyjamas or knit pants and top. I don't like nightgowns.
DeleteI am sure it was a great party. It was a good idea to have a focus on planting up some boxes.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; it was a good party, I think in future years there might be organised games like races and pass the parcel, but not yet. The box planting went reasonably well, but one twin got a headache and watering eyes, probably an allergic reaction the same as I get.
DeleteWhat a fun time! I'm glad they had a party with friends and can only imagine what it's like to try fitting four names into the song.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I didn't know the other two girls had recent birthdays until the two cakes came out.
DeleteMy happiest of birthday wishes to the two little beauties. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead, River...take care...stay warm....my cuddles to lovely Lady Lola who will be snuggled up close, I bet! :)
Lee; thank you. I'm trying to stay warm, but keeping the heat low to save on the bill. I'm going to have to wear more layers or wrap up in a blanket.
DeleteA fun day it looks R. Good food. As long as the birthday little ones had fun.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; thank you, I think everyone had fun.
DeletePlanting flowers was such a lovely idea. It looked like a very happy party.
ReplyDeletejabblog; I liked the idea of planting and the two visiting sisters got to take their planters home.
DeleteTo be honest... I´d refuse to take the bus in PJs, too!
ReplyDeleteWe attended a wedding in South Germany and changed clothes in the car jsut before attenting... no fun, either in a catholic village...
The Flam(Ingo) haunts me! My friend suggested to stand on one leg to regain balance...
Wow, like in former East Germany!!! There kids learned gardening, too, and whenever I have a gardening question I ask my ex-teamleader who grew up there - great idea to teach the kids this!
I´d love to hear that song - happy belated Birthday to the twins!
Iris; if any of my pyjamas were thick and warm enough I might have worn them. But I don't need thick pyjamas because my bed is so warm.
DeleteStanding on one leg has to be relearned slowly, lift one foot just a little bit and stay as long as you can. Then the same with the other foot and try to extend the time.
I think all kids should learn a little bit about gardening and then more if they show more interest.
That´s a good idea to start with just lifting the foot - thank you!
DeleteI think kids also should learn how to repair a bike, cook, basic, useful things in life. In East Germany all this was taught....
In my home too, this was taught, and later to my children, also how to iron their clothes and how to run the washing machine.
DeleteMy granddaughter birthday is coming up,
ReplyDeleteDora; happy birthday to your granddaughter.
DeleteThis looks like so much fun!! And those sausages and onions made my mouth water. Happy Birthday to all of the littles!
ReplyDeleteMMM; I ate two of those sausages with bread, onions and sauce! And more than my share of mini pavlovas with whipped cream. The real stuff, not from a can.
