Words for Wednesday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by River and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.trembling 2.bobbing 3.rescue 4.green 5.redhead 6.potato
Charlotte's colour of the month is Ocean Twilight
My story will appear on this blog on Friday 13th

Another Friday the 13, groovy. Happy Writing.
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk; I'd forgotten about Friday 13th, usually I ignore it anyway. I'm not superstititous.
DeleteCan't wait to read it. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteDVArtist; thank you, the weather is cooler for a few days so I am a lot more comfortable.
DeleteI’ll get to it as soon as I can.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; me too.

ReplyDeleteWrong spelling, will do it again!
DeleteI had to leave the POTATO I was peeling and go to the mountain and help RESCUE a REDHEAD. Well, that is what I was told, not that there would be many people there with red hair. It took me half an hour to get to where all my colleagues were and some were BOBBING up and down taking their equipment of the GREEN grass, just putting everything together. When all done off we all went to the small mountain, most of us were TREMBLING because it was so cold as we rescued the lady. Thank goodness she wasn’t too bad, but a helicopter was also needed to take her to the hospital for treatment. Yes, she made a full recovery. Of course it was near dark as night was upon us.
Margaret D; interesting tale. I'm glad the lady survived. Beware of mountains.
DeleteAn exciting use of the words, a good rescue story.
DeleteBobbling the .. I cannot say "mate", rather drunkie came over, if drunkie is a word - the color in his brain likely was Ocean Twilight... he came over to our cabin in 2024.
ReplyDeleteHe´d heard we speak German. I am used to be called redhead but he called me a potato - as "a German". I was trembling in "rage", but then... he was but a drunkhead.
We had the greener grass at our cabin for sure. And my rescue was: I was in Madely/Perth with Ingo and happy.
Sorry, that is all I can come up with and look very much forward to yours!!
Oh, it´ll be again my Mum´s fav day, Friday 13th, her lucky day!
Iris; Drunkie is a word, though most people just say drunk (he's a drunk) and many people think of Germans as potato farmers though I don't know why. Did Germany have potato farmers? At least you had Ingo to feel safe.
DeleteIt's hard sometimes to deal with those who are drunk. It sounds like he was one of that kind.
DeleteRiver, Potatoes (potatos?) were very important in WWII. And I recall a story of some King (?) who put up soldiers at potato-fields to make them seem to be valuable. He wanted the people to steal and try them, so yes, reckon we have a history with that. Usually we´re called Krauts, though. Up to the North "fish-heads", doesn´t get better ;-)
DeleteI flip at "Lederhosen", because that is Bavaria, not Germany.
messymimi, at least he was not aggressive... just annoying and not funny at all.
Iris; yes, potatoes with "e". Didn't Bavaria used to be part of Germany?
DeleteThank you for the words. I did not use many of them, but I continued my story: Peter's Time Travel 5</a
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; I'll have to read your story when I get home. I'm off to catch a bus and visit with the twins.
DeleteI had to rescue a trembling well endowed redhead with a piece of green potato stuck in her throat not realizing the high Heimlich would save her but throw me backwards into the wall.
ReplyDeleteMike; well done 😀

ReplyDeleteThe lagoon was green the day when Liam and Hannah joined the rescue team in aiding in the rescue of Liam’s dog, Potato, who was never too bright. Liam saw Potato’s head bobbing, in algae covered water.
Liam scooped the trembling animal up and into the boat. They headed to the reeds while Liam looked at his redhead with love. Potato was not pleased with Liam’s affection for Hannah, so he nudged the redheaded woman into the green water. It was the thing to do.
Susan Kane; thank you, this was interesting, almost as if Potato got into the lagoon on purpose so he could dunk Hannah.
