Musical Monday # 121
Musical Monday
I was introduced to
Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way
to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same
time.
I’ll be finding my clips
on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many
versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong
artist.
Today’s clip is: The McGuire Sisters
Sugartime
I'm sure Mimsie will remember this one. It was my dad's favourite.
They looked so much alike--& they sang good, too!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; I've noticed that about singing sisters, they all look like they could be twins or triplets.
DeleteThey sure could harmonize! They could bring some of that stuff back again. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteS.J.Qualls; harmony is easy to do when you all have the same voice, as sisters often do. And it's nice to listen to, unlike a lot of today's music.
DeleteDespite their undoubted talent, not to my taste. Which is my loss.
ReplyDeletePS: My father's favourites included Harry Belafonte.
DeleteElephant's Child; not everybody has the same taste, and that's a good thing otherwise life could get boring. I remember Harry Belafonte, I like a couple of his songs I think, I'd have to check.
DeleteThis was around when I was a wee one, always liked it but any song about sugar at that time ment lots of lollies.
ReplyDeleteMerle.......
Merle; I remember hearing this on TV when there were music shows that you could sing along to. Do you remember Sing Along With Mitch? He'd have the lyrics across the bottom of the screen and you could follow the bouncing ball to sing along.
DeleteBoy! That's a golden oldie from when I was a kid! :)
ReplyDeleteLee; I knew you would remember this one. It pops into my head now and again for no reason at all.
Delete.. lovely choice River... a nice bouncy song .. I do remember this song... Barb xxxx
ReplyDeleteBarbara; I thought you'd remember this one :)
DeleteI, too was fairly young when the song came out (a year before I started grade school) but back in those days I fashioned myself a singer and my family had to endure my rendition of songs like Sugartime. I still know the lyrics so I must of really worn out my welcome at family events.
ReplyDeleteCheryl; my sister fancied herself a singer too, she had one of those high, sweet voices that often go with being five years old and someone told her that. Even now she sings Oh Christmas Tree, in German, believing that she still has that sweet voice. She's 67...
