Ground-breaking news here!

Or not, it depends on your point of view.

Lola went out through the cat flap into the back porch!

All by herself!

She went to it, hesitated, nudged the door, and was out.

Five seconds later she came back in,  but she's been doing that part all week.

I am so happy right now.

  1. That's terrific, River. She'll be fine now...probably still will be a bit tentative for a while...but she'll get her confidence. Good on our lovely Lady Lola! :)

    1. Lee; not at all tentative, she's been in and out all evening since that first time.

  2. Food is a pretty good incentive. Out and back in. Mission accomplished.

    1. Andrew; no food required, although I was going to try that tomorrow if she hadn't worked up her courage tonight.

    1. Snoskred; 6 months? try holding them and nudging their head gently against the flap to open it, then let them slide through. That's what I did with Lola for three days.

  7. Good for her. Another skill under her belt .. er .... collar.

    1. only slightly confused; Lola doesn't wear a collar, I put one on when I first got her home and she scratched it off in less than twenty minutes. She never goes outside so I figured she's okay without. The porch she now gets into is completely closed in and safe.

  8. I know how you feel. Pretty much the way I felt when my cat finally climbed the cat condo after lazing on the bottom rung for a month.

    1. Arkansas Patti; Lola was like that at first too, I don't think she'd ever had a condo to climb on. Now she sits right on the top platform.

  11. Wonderful news. Though you will be getting less exercise now. Says the woman who gets a lot of hers getting up and opening doors for Jazz. Doors he can open himself.

  12. Elephant's Child; I'm mostly happy because now I can sleep while Lola lets herself into the back porch during the night.
