Sunday Selections

Long, long ago, in days of yore...Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Drop in to Elephant's Child and have a look.

only a couple of photos today and they aren't mine

you all remember Supergirl's moon photo?

here it is again in case you forgot how great it looks

and here is a day time photo of the moon:

pretty cool, right? you can still see the craters 😀

My own new camera arrives sometime this coming week, but I'll be waiting for warmer nights before I stand outside looking at the moon.

  1. Moon was sure pretty last night, lease for where I live.

    1. Dora; I don't see the moon at night until summer when it is warm enough to go out after dark.

    1. Elehant's Child; I forgot to link to your site, sorry. I'm looking forward to it too, but not until warmer weather gets here. Yesterday was perfect, almost 25C and sunny all day. Even the breeze had warmth in it. Today is cold and drizzly.

  4. Kind of makes one wonder what the zoom would do on a closer subject. Let us know when you get yours.

    1. Andrew; up until now Supergirl has taken photos with her phone and they have been really good, so I'm not surprised by what she does with the camera. She has mentioned possibly getting a tripod and I will too, because my hands do shake a bit when I'm trying to hold a focus.

    1. Joanne; I'm a lot more stoppable than I used to be, but I hope to get out more this summer than I did last year.

  8. I can't pick a favorite. They both are impressive. My son Genius used to do a lot of photography, and develop his own pictures. I'm not sure he has time for that now. He had a tripod. I think your daughter will find it beneficial if she gets one.

    1. Val; both my boys did a bit of photography and developing in high school, but neither of them even owns a camera now. Tripods will definitely be useful, we are both getting one.

  9. My Dad used to drag us kids out of bed in the coldest nights to watch the sky cause then light pollution is low. Brrrr... did I hate that!
Great pics and yay for a new cam!

    1. Iris Flavia; I don't remember EVER getting dragged out of bed for anything, lucky me.

    2. LOL 1969 little Ingo was dragged out of bed in the middle of the night. To watch the very first people landing on the moon.
He thought it was a comic series!!! (He was 4 years old).
      Oh, what a waste 🤣
