BIG WOW! My late Dad would speed right over to get to learn about that camera ;-) He had celestrons and all and loooved to watch the sky, the moon, the stars, the sun. I was still a kid, but he invited Ingo over all the time, LOL.
Iris Flavia; I've tried to get decent photos of the moon for years, without success. I think because I can't see the horizon from my place, so when I see the moon it is too high up in the sky.
That shot is beautiful. Well done. My Cannon has a 50x zoom and I have a five or ten year old picture I took. Now, the camera is too heavy for me to hold steady. I do have a tripod...
Joanne; I have ordered the same camera and I'll see how it handles, but I think I may have to get a tripod also, because my hands get a teeny bit shaky when I'm trying to hold a focus.
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1.conviviality 2.adoration 3.willpower 4.mellow 5.gentle 6.guitar Have fun, don't use all the words if you can't,there's no pressure here. My story will appear on this blog on Friday as always, unless I can't write one... edit: Charlotte's colour of the month is Beauty Berry Purple.
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections. A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please. Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. Brother R came to visit and brought me some old paperwork belonging to my dad, who has been dead for 25 and a half years now. They'd been stored in a container with moth balls and were quite stinky so I pegged them out on the clothes rack in the back porch three days later, most are now inside, but the heavier items such as dad's passports are still smelly so they are still out there. I now have the original copy of his natu...

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us more often. **Elephant's Child is taking a break for the month of February** Continuing our road trip, today sees us in Snowtown, a small place 100km north of Adelaide. The welcome sign has an original windmill and the new wind power generators which we saw in a recent post along the hilltops for several miles. a painted water tower the infamous "bodies in barrels" bank which is no longer a bank All Bank signage was removed a long time ago an...

DeleteMy goodness! I wouldn't want to take a close-up of myself with that camera! I get a big enough fright now as it is, just looking in the mirror! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is incredible!
