Charlotte; well I had all those earrings and a tiny tree... The Santas are vintage and I bought them from a thrift shop many years ago. I don't know about their history at all, but I still have them and will pass them on the my grand daughters one day.
Mike; I can do that too. The Santas were vintage when I bought them from the thrift shop, yet they haven't aged a bit since then, looking exactly the same.
I cannot believe that this year has flown past so quickly :( During days of work, I used to plan hour by hour with a timetable that set out each task and its expected date of delivery. Nowadays there are only two tasks: a] I publish a blog post twice a week and b] have lunch with the family every weekend. How sad is that.
LOL. I had Christmas earrings I really wore. Due to your very high UV-index I wore Banana Boat 50+ always (I do even here in Germany on sunny days (Nivea)) and boy. Banana Boat ate up the color of the side that touched my face! The new doc asked if I was on holiday. Perth/Adelaide. > Skin cancer test is due. Duuuude. They hear Australia, they think skin cancer. Cozy 6C right now, wish I was in your place! Merry Christmas- enjoy!
Iris; I have so many Christmas earrings! I used to wear a different pair to work every day in December and a friend did the same. I've heard that Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world, and still so many people here don't wear sunscreen. I always had 30+, but now 50+ since a few years ago. And I still turn brown, but never burn. You should get your skin tested just in case. You did have that one time where you got blistered. I never had a skin check yet but am planning on one next year. We have a cool change here right now since yesterday morning so people are a lot more comfortable. 22C. It will be hot again mid-week.
LOL. I have too many earrings. But... working from home. I don´t really care anymore. Oh so often I stay in my PJs (like many a colleague), too. Our cash out woman, Bea, always wears a Santa hat for the season. Yupp, I was joung and VERY dumb. 1995, just a couple of times without hat/sunscreen from the car to Wollies. > Sun allergy. Yes, Mam, I will get that darn test done ;-) At least insurance covers that. -1C here, grey again.
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections. A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please. Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. you might need your magnifying glass or a high powered microscope to read the franking over the stamp: above the stamp it reads "secure your dog" and across the stamp "for safe delivery" - this was on a Christmas card that arrived through the mail from my brother. Excellent advice I think. an "Aussie style" Christmas window display seen in the city by "no-one" David Jones Store has its traditional Chri...
I shall keep this short and sweet. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I am truly surprised to have received this: Laughing Horse Award from Yorkshire Pudding , also known as YP, for being the Australian Blogger of the Year. Click the link to read the nice things he said.

Hels; not at all sad, you still do things and not just park yourself in front of the TV.
DeleteJust discovered your blog via jabblog. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteI love the santa playing the violin 😊
Liam Ryan; welcome to drifting and thank you. I think that Santa is the older of the two vintage ones.
