chocolate capsicum
Those of you who have been reading here for a while might remember that I planted a mixed colour selection of mini capsicum seeds several months ago.
Finally, now that it's almost too cold for salads, these tasty little bites are ripening.
Here is the very first one I picked, two days ago.
It's chocolate coloured, but still capsicum flavoured.
Washed and ready to eat. Measured too, so you can see how tiny this little morsel is.
Sliced
Seeds scooped out
Nothing left but the stem!
I'm saving the seeds of each individual colour in separate envelopes for next season.
Here's another "chocolate" capsicum ripening
Look! There's an orange one almost ready.

They're so cute!
ReplyDeleteCooked with tomato, onion and garlic and you have tea for tonight yummmmmy :-).
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful. Thank you for sharing. Now how are you going to prepare them?
ReplyDeleteYou can imagine how much my eyes lit up when I popped over here and read 'CHOCOLATE capsicum'.
ReplyDeleteEven now I'm feeling rather peckish and never thought I'd describe a member of the pepper family as 'cute'.
Veronica; they are cute, and tiny.
ReplyDeleteWindsmoke; they're not big enough to cook individually, maybe if I picked half a dozen.
Elephant's Child; no prep, just wash, slice, eat. 2 bites and they're gone.
Kath; I knew that would get you. They do look a bit like they've been choc-dipped.
That looks adorable
ReplyDeleteLike kath, I thought I was going to be reading about chocolate flavoured capsicums, lol.
ReplyDeleteno-one; like a giant cherry.
ReplyDeleteNikki; wouldn't that be great?
