Musical Monday # 59

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: a blast from the past: Lynne Randell

Ciao Baby

made popular again by the TV series Love Child

how fun is that red outfit?

There doesn't seem to be a version with the lyrics, sorry about that.

  1. Oh my. WHAT an outfit.
I didn't think I knew this one, but yes I do...
    Thanks.

  2. That's a flash from the past! Our "Miss Mod" of the time, Randell was a fairly regular guest on "Bandstand" and "Six O'Clock Rock"

  3. That is a good one and will probably run through my head for most of the day.

  5. Elephant's Child; everybody knows this one! maybe. there's probably one or two people who don't (*~*)

Lee; six o'clock rock is one of those shows I missed, along with Komotion and whatever else was on Saturday afternoons that every girl in school seemed to know about, that's where they learned all those dance steps and showed them off at the school dances.

Andrew; at least it's a good song to be running through your head. i could have put something silly like Purple People Eater.

Merle; I missed a lot of Love Child, i was fed up with TV shows always running late so watched DVDs instead, so eventually I'll buy the love child DVDs and catch up.

  6. She also had that outfit in white lace, very daring for the age. I met her and I would say Annie O'Dyne did as well.

  7. JahTeh; White lace? For Sundays or parties perhaps...I'm a little jealous that you met her, was she nice? She seems nice.

  8. I was unable to view this as I got the message "this video is not available in safety mode", whatever that means. That has never happened before with any of your Monday offerings.
I don't know the artist or the tune and have never watched Love Child so it probably wouldn't mean a lot to me anyway,

  9. Hello greetings and good wishes.

Very enjoyable and very lively video.

I managed to get the lyrics. Take a look.

Ciau baby, let's call it a day
Ciau baby, go ahead and throw my love away
No baby it's too late to change a minus day
Please don't drag it out much longer
Leave before the hurt gets stronger, ciau

    I should have known
You would be the very first to cast a stone
    You're not to blame
It's your friends that have left in me the rain

They filled your head with wonder
They said I'd drag you under
Now you've lost sight of my love
It's time to say goodbye, love

Ciau baby, let's call it a day
Ciau baby, go ahead and throw my love away
No baby it's too late to change a minus day
Please don't drag it out much longer
Leave before the hurt gets stronger, ciau

    Fly like a bird
Freedom's here and I release you from your word
    Don't turn around

    Best wishes

  11. Mimsie; it's a shame you couldn't see it, but as you said you don't know the song or the artist or the TV show. I don't think it's your type of music anyway, being a pop song from the 60s.

Joseph; thank you for the lyrics, i shall write them down so I can sing along. I knew most of the words already, just a couple I couldn't pick up.

Barbara; I personally never wore such things, I was a bit young for following mod fashions and mostly wore my sister's hand me downs or whatever dad got us from the op shop.

  12. Barbara, that was a couture outfit and I'm sure I have an image of it somewhere, very expensive. The daring part was the very low back of the pants and the high split top. It does look much better in white.
River, I only saw her a few times in passing when she was at the radio station doing interviews but I do remember her having terrible acne.
