Musical Monday # 107

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Southern Sons

  1. I didn't know this song or the artists - guess I was busy chasing a small boy. It was a good song and don't you just love the hair? Thanks, that had a really good beat!

    1. S.J.Qualls; I don't remember what year it's from, I think 1990 or thereabouts, maybe 89. They're an Australian group and possibly didn't get much airplay in America. I do love the hair and wish mine would grow as long.

  2. Not one I knew either. I do remember lots and lots of hair like that though.

    1. Elephant's Child; I still see quite a bit of hair that long, but not loose and some is in dreadlocks. Hip length golden brown dreadlocks with a gorgeous face and body, he's probably in a band.

  3. It's ages since I've heard this band. Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas sounds similar to John Farnham, doesn't he? Jones/Thomas was once married to Rebecca Gibney.

    1. Lee; he does sound very similar to Farnham, but the voice is just that bit smoother. I'd forgotten he was married to Rebecca Gibney.

    1. Barbara; this is the song that got quite a lot of airplay in its first year and after that I didn't hear much of them at all. There was a second song and of course they have albums, but this song was my favourite.

  5. Ahhh, the big hair. Now it's big beards... hipsters :)

    1. Vicki; I'm really not a fan of the big beards. I don't mind a five o'clock shadow or even a three day shadow, but big bushy beards are a no-no for me.
I do still love the long hair though.

  6. I know I heard it before but when I don't recall. But it got my foot a tapping.

    1. peppylady (Dora); it's been a long while since this was on radio, it is a foot tapper and great for walking to if you get up a bit of speed like I used to.
